  1. Just so you can see my perspective a bit, because I often see "so this not ok, but the other thing is" I'm not seeing everything! I check the forums frequently and browse around to make sure everything is ok, but by no means see all edits, comments, etc. So unless somebody contacts me or reports things, I'm often not aware of them. And please remember that everybody can report things, not just mods!

  3. Funfact: I've wanted to make a game with plant creatures for a while now And this really reminds me of that! It would be a survival/simulation game (because what else??) where you have to manage a colony of plant creatures that live both in the ground and on the surface. You'd have to dig tunnels, breed, gather resources from the surface etc. And your babies would be seeds that need to grow with sunlight, so you need to protect them.

  5. They are going to be cute We have to order at least 500 to get them made, so this definetly needs a Kickstarter. We are currently at the 6th iteration (right plushie) and the left one was the 5th iteration. There might be a 7th one with the mouth slightly lower, but not sure yet. The whole process took about a year, crazy. Prototype -> feedback -> prototype ....
  6. We will soon run another Kickstarter for the Adam plushies (Hopefully 2-3 months from now) Maybe we could go ahead and add the the Niche art book as a reward there.

  8. We need more older people in these forums! Let's talk about taxes, maybe that attracts them. No, but seriously, I agree that we need more moderators. I've also been thinking about something like a "peace keeper" role. Which would maybe mostly involve reporting stuff and maybe the possibility to ban people for let's say 24 hours max? I'm not even sure if that is possible with our forum software, need to check with our programmer. I'd just kind of like a role with less power to edit stuff etc, but that still can jump in and help if things escalate.

  10. @FawnCat There actually is a Niche art book It was a Kickstarter reward! We really have to start a merch store at some point
  11. The main reason is that we always considered them more as an in-game UI element (to display actions) then part of the actual character design. But when players started posting fanart and pretty much always included the gems and also requested features to change gem colors, we realised that people actually really like them ^^ So now they are usually included! (In the plushies for example and also in the mobile game, even though there is no "UI need" for them).
  12. Sounds like a good idea @UWOaether ^^ If people keep using these, I can also put them in the rules channel so new people understand what they are.

  14. @A Nicheling Yeah health and age currently work like in the normal Niche. But who knows for how long Take all of this with a a grain of salt In this prototype 1 time unit is only a few second, so their lives might not be longer at all But none of this is even close to being balanced, so it's just random numbers for now. About hunger: Yeah, I'm not sure yet if I should just go with the classic "we are sharing all our food globaly" mechanic, or if an individual feeding and food transportation mechanic would be fun...Have to try it out ^^

  19. @A Nicheling The build on Mac on the preview branch? If so, are these all new bugs that weren't in the previous version :O? A list would be amazing!

Bit of progress from yesterday's night promgramming session - Adam and Eve are back! - Worked some more on the breeding system - Added age levels (no more breeding with the babies, yay) - Added some more UI info Also they had SO MANY DAUGHTERS! I already thought it was a bug, until the little prince was born ❤️

  22. @alex602h Yes Niche mobile is still in development We'll have a focus week next week and will potentially be in touch to ask for feedback! However I'm not the programmer of the game so I can't really go ahead and just try new things out with it. This is just me doing stuff I like in my free time ^^
