Food Source - Strawana

Trinket

Post

Strawana (Stra-Ana) is like a strawberry/banana. It's the shape of a banana and is the color of a strawberry with its seeds on the outside. It grows on a bush that's maybe twice the height of the berry bushes that already exist in the game. It cannot grow in savannah nor can it grow in the cold climate. Because they grow in bunches one can collect twice as many fruits than from a berry bush, but it's much rarer than a berry bush in terms of its spawn rate. Rabbits and other collecting animals will raid from this fruit too.

How about it takes more inspiration from the banana and they grow in tall trees? That way on flying (and potentially climbing if it becomes a thing) creatures can reach large bunches (that could be worth a lot more food) but individual fruits would occasionally fall like coconuts and acorns for other creatures to collect from. The entire tree might only regrow it’s fruits in the rain and collecting bunches could be worth more than collecting them all from the ground to benefit having flying creatures.

Dont you think it would seem a bit op? considering that you get 2 berries growing per day on a normal bush, 4 strawanas growing per day would be a lot of food

I don't think there'd be more than maybe one or two on an island maybe? Ergo a rarer source of food hopefully makes it not that OP. Maybe I'm mistaken. The only other way I can see to combat that is having it have times where it's a hostile plant somehow. Or maybe only make it twice the amount of fruit during the rains, but only a single bunch (2 pieces of food) grows on it any other day.

Thats definately a good idea, with the rain having it twice, but when you think about it, wouldnt it refill like the normal berry bush? maybe instead of those two ideas, it was always hostile and there is like, maybe a paw that lets you pick safely?

Banana plant is actually a type of grass. (It doesn't have a wooden trunk.) But it's the biggest grass in the whole worldimage.png.57b1a4238846a725bf2980ee40fcea19.png

Well regardless, it still grows much taller than strawberries so maybe instead of being called trees they can be called starwara plants.
