twins might be a bit of a problem. if you have a limit of 15 and there are currently 14 in your tribe but one of your nichelings is about to give birth. will it stop them from giving birth in case of twins? will it force it to be a single birth even if it would be twins? would it let you go to 16 if you get twins? will it automatically banish one of your other nichelings if twins are born? will it force you to chose a nicheling to release before you can do anything else?

and similarly what if you had two pregnant females who are about to give birth but you can only have one more nicheling? will it randomly pick one to give birth? will it do one of the things mentioned for twins?

have i used to many question marks XD? srsly tho tell me how you think this should work if this is added.

I think only one baby would be born. The female to give birth would be chosen by rank. If they have the same rank then randomly.

  2. More plaaaaaaaants!!!

Fern: Appears in jungle biomes, can be destroyed with 4 strength to get 3 nesting material, can't be stepped on, regrows.

Flowers: Appears in easy islands, can't be destroyed or covered by grass, attracts rabbils, can be stepped on.

Short grass: Appears in grassland and savannah biomes, can be stepped on, doesnt do anything special XD

Weird leafy sorrel thing: Appears in grasslands and jungles, heals one day of damage, can't be stepped on, regrows.

Cucumber/pumpkin thing: Appears in jungles, "fruits"(?) can be harvested for 3 food, fruit regrows, can be destroyed with 4 strength to ged 3 food and 2 nesting material, can't be stepped on, doesn't regrow after being destroyed.

There is little use in having a number that can be changed at any point. Logically, that translates to -- the player can't change it at every whim. Which means when the change has to be bound to an event. E.g a specific creature passing away (Whims of Fate), or an amount of time passing.

In other words, I am asking for the concrete, as just putting a number in somewhere doesn't add value to the game. Especially combined with the reference to Whims of Fate, I don't think the idea was meant that way, as Whims of Fate follows specific rules.

What if you have a challenge tribe with a set tribe size, and after the challenge is done, you want to continue with that tribe?

@DogCatCowPig @RandomWanderer @Lilytuft I don't know why, but I have the ability to make a green check mark appear on your comments on this post. For some reason there was one on @Lunerechos's comment. When I hover over the option to do it it says 'Set this to implemented.' Anyone know what this means exactly and why I have this mysterious power? @Philo?

It appeared for me on my own posts

oh and also you wouldn't be able to let them take damage and not heal it or they would never even become an adult at all. combining that with teens having less moves predators would be more dangerous and harder to kill.

    Well that's what I call a challenge!

that would be an interesting game. but it would be absurdly hard to try to get a breeding pair from adam and eve and whenever you only had 4 or 5 immunity genes. wanderers would be huge in that challenge. but if you can survive with this challenge than that is a very good show of skill

Yep. And when I would get a breeding pair, I'd have to move them together before them becoming adults. Maybe I would change that to 5 days as an adult...

Recently, I've discovered the Bearyena Tribe Curse.

Never name your save file Bearyena Tribe or Carnivore Tribe if you want an easy game. Every single save file with that name has had a lot more bearyenas spawn than usual. Now, I'll excuse my deleted Deadly Hills save, but I've never seen so many bearyenas in Burning Savanna, Whale Island, or Summer Mountains before. And I've had previous playthroughs on all of those islands, so it's not like I'm visiting them for the first time.

I love bearyenas, they are a great meal! I'm gonna name my next save just that!

  8. You could set yourself a tribe size limit, that you could change during game (if you watch Niche: Whims of fate, you know why this is needed). When your tribe is full, you can't invite wanderers. You can have your nichelings mate, but no babies will be born before there's room in the tribe. If you have multiple females on nest, but not enough room in the tribe for all of the babies, the females with he highest rank will give birth first. If you have too many females of the highest rank, the oldest ones give birth first. You can't set the tribe limit smaller than your tribe is. You'll need to get rid of your extra creatures before making the limit smaller.

You had access to crossing? Whale island gives me a bug every time in story mode -- without fail -- that results in ports to harder islands being unable to spawn. I can't travel to harder islands, either, via Whale island.

I'd have to test if this is still the case and report the bug sometime, so your input would be really helpful.

It's not a bug. You're not supposed to get to harder islands from whale island in story mode
