  1. Nice... Well you're doing pretty good right now, so I'll just say to make sure you don't run out of food and go stay near the water due to the way Flyn's made.
  2. You've got two nichelings of the opposite gender so far. I'd say you're doing pretty well. The story is also nice as well. Continue to focus on gathering until Flyn is an adult, then breed Flyn and Tapioca. After that, try to get your food up higher and maybe recruit the other nicheling later.
  3. I lost at around one-hundred-ish days. At minimum it was one-hundred and three days, but it was probably closer to one-hundred and seven days. How long did you survive this challenge?
  4. They didn't make it. So I managed to survive around one-hundred-ish days. The bearyenas ate everyone.
  5. All the time. Whenever I get in a pinch, I tend to just quit the run. I need to get better at not quitting runs.
  6. A few days have passed, and Sandstorm’s son has been born! He’s cream with double digging paws, so I name him Burrow. Soon after Burrow’s birth, however, the Gazelles obtain a new member to their tribe, the velvet-paw, cracker jaw Beech! His fertility is terrible, but he’s otherwise pretty good and fits in with the yellowish colors of the Gazelle Tribe. Storm and Beech become mates, hoping to increase the numbers of the tribe, while Drake starts traveling up the large hills to see what else lies beyond the small coastal territory. Also, there’s a rogue male trying to harass the females, but Dragon, Shade, and Beech are dealing with that! The boys manage to discover a small savanna next to a river. If they cross it… Maybe they’ll discover new lands. In the meantime, Drake finds a female who he falls in love with named Pollen. Awful fertility, but she’s got something that no other member of the Gazelles have. The ability to eat insects! Once they find some kind of termite mound, maybe a new source of food could be unlocked. Storm has her first child, Lightning! She’s the perfect mix of her parents, colors of her mom plus the body of her dad. But then, some bearyenas come… The tribe is in danger, and Lightning ends up getting killed. Poor thing… The tribe isn’t safe here… The bearyenas killed Dragon and Shade, so the Gazelles decide that need to go into hiding for now in order to recover their numbers… This is what happens when AHVHC swings into full force… A moment of silence for the tribe… Beech passes away from old age, and the world seems to get quieter. There is some light in the sky, however, for Pollen and Drake have had their daughter, Powder (she’s infertile, so no kids, sadly), and the tribe has recruited a blind defender by the name of Wasp. Some time passes and Sandstorm and Wasp both pass away at old age. Storm and Burrow are also now mates and have just had their first daughter, Rosewood, who got her dark brown fur from her paternal grandfather. The Gazelles also found a juvenile nicheling named Firefly, who is quick on his feet and fits right in with his lean body and savanna horns. The tribe is on Day eighty-one and is rather low on food due to an influx of new members. The newest wanderer here is the bright orange derp snout who is fittingly called Orange, as well as a younger patched wanderer by the name of Brittlebush. Finally, there’s Drake and Pollen’s son, the little red nicheling with ram horns who is called Fleetfoot. Also, Bolt died in battle, sadly. Traveling the swamp in search of more food due to their high number of nichelings in the tribe, the nichelings continue to fight bearyenas and try not to die. Storm and Burrow’s second daughter, Peyote, is also born, sporting both heat body and blind eyes, which were seen in neither parent. But many things have changed throughout the years… The flies have come from the swamp to invade and infect the Gazelle Tribe, bearyenas continue to attack and kill the nichelings, and rogue males are always prowling in the corners. It is day one-hundred and three, and the tribe wonders if they should move on from this island. They could go to the cold lands of First Snow, but many of them lack the ability to live in the cold, or they could try the island north that I think is Oasis or Crossing, which would probably be better suited for them. Here are the current members/the survivors. Firefly, his mate Rosewood, Peyote, Blossom (wanderer), and Powder. Will they continue to survive? Or will their days be over soon?
  7. I’m going to try A Challenge for Everybody/An Honestly Very Hard Challenge and try not to die. Here we are! This is my starting nicheling, and she seems to be on a small, swampy island. From what I can see, she is pitch-black (with both black savanna horns and black fur) with light pink stripes and green eyes. She has medium ears, a short snout, a big body, stinky tail, hind legs, and a runner leg to her left and a velvet paw to her right. Of course, due to the settings, she has good eyesight and perfect fertility. I give her the name of Iris, and she decides to wander off for food. After crossing the shore path, Iris soon stumbles onto a nest and a berry bush. This will be where she calls home for now and is also the perfect opportunity to gather up on food! Nearby her nest, however, Iris finds a bright orange male named Inferno. He is blind with a derp snout and a lean body. He has a dark reddish-brown mane, red ram horns, and a nimble finger to his left and a digging paw to his right. Also of note is that he has hind legs and a fishing tail, with his fertility being two. On day eleven, Inferno and Iris become mates despite their age gap. They continue to gather food in the meanwhile. There is a wanderer near the territory. But Iris has to have her child first. There’s also a few other things, but nothing important. Their son! He mostly took after dad but has runner leg and stinky tail. He has dark red fur and most notable is that he displays blue eyes. His name is Dragon. Soon after Dragon’s birth, the two mates decide to find out who the new wanderer in their territory is. Her name is Snowflake, and as you can tell, she is orange with large white spots. She introduces medium body, claw, and medium tail into the tribe, but also has short-sighted eyes and a deformed paw to her right. At least she has good fertility! Fought a bearyena, but thankfully everyone’s attack is pretty good, so it died fast! Also dealing with a rogue male… And then this little guy wanders in! His name is Bolt, and probably most notable about him are those massive ears of his. A lot of my nichelings have horns, and are quick on their feet… Maybe I’ll call them the Gazelle Tribe. How about NO. Dragon meets his little sister, Storm! I now know one of Inferno or Iris has spiky body since she displays it. But nothing lasts forever, it seems, for Inferno, the tribe’s rogue male defender, has passed away and there’s now a bearyena in the grasses, ready to hunt these poor grieving nichelings whenever it gets the opportunity. It is quickly taken out, however, and Snowflake and Bolt soon become mates after the event! Iris saves a baby boy that nearly drowns, who looks just like her son except for his gray horns and swimming tail. She names him Drake for the similarities to Dragon and soon takes him back to the Gazelle Tribe. Tensions rise, however, when another bearyena attacks and the group try to fight it off. With Snowflake nursing her newborn son and many of the members just too young to fight, Iris decides to take the brunt of the damage and dies... On the bright side, young Shade is born! He has melanism, so Snowflake or Bolt must have it as well. Snowflake is getting old, however, but two new wanderers may shake things up! Two-Tone (left) and Sandstorm (right) introduce themselves to the tribe and soon take their places. While Two-Tone knows he won’t last for long, his younger mate will, so now recently pregnant, she decides to take refuge. It’s day forty-four, and Snowflake and Two-Tone both eventually pass away. Storm is now a full-grown adult and independent member of the tribe, while young Shade is now a teenager himself. Despite the challenges that Iris first faced when settling down in the savanna-forest, her family and their friends have made themselves a new life, but will it last? How am I doing so far on AHVHC so far? I have 26 nesting material and 100 food.
  8. What kind of playthrough should I do? If this is off-topic, I can get rid of it.
  9. Ghost (dominant yellow but it's reduced due to massive gray patches) Shingle (dominant cream + red-brown patches, also black spikes mixed with webbed paw and velvet paw) Oz (gray on red-brown with white horns) Thief (basically a female rogue male with gray/red pattern) Gillian (mostly green with gray horns and tan hands/feet. Kinda weird) Ruby (barely-visible brown and red with webbed hind legs)
  10. Coast from Lore and Legends. And her wife Shingle. As well as my Nichesona Honor.
  11. Shingle Original ~~~~ -Ears are fox-like in shape, but rounder than Coast’s ears. -Eyes are a chocolaty brown. Out of her friends, Shingle is the only one to have normal eyesight, so she generally notices things first when not distracted. -Shingle’s snout is short and rounded face similar to a cat’s. Her primary mode of sense is hearing. Her teeth are sharp and needle-like similar to a hedgehog’s, while her tongue is soft and round. -Shingle has large black spines on her back made of hollow hair and keratin. They are a part of her hair and do not naturally detach, but can be broken off. The spines are sharp, but not excessively. -Shingle’s fur is long and moderately soft, with Shingle herself being orangish-brown with large dark brown markings. The longest patches of fur are located on her paws similar to horse feathering. -Shingle’s paws are fairly delicate and cat-like and have thinner fur than the rest of her body, but also somewhat webbed. Her paw pads are soft and squishy, while her legs are in a digitigrade position. The fluff should be on both sides, but the paw’s backside is shown without it for better reference.
  12. I consider the perfect genes to be whatever is best suited for the area they're in. Savannah creatures should have big ears, lean body, and beige or chestnut brown fur, arctic creatures should have big body, white or red-brown fur, and high attack. Other than that, I'm not picky. My least favorite genes are ones that don't have any benefits. Hemophilia, low fertility, no horns, mask/no pattern, and deformed paw, though I'm not picky with what nichelings I have.
  13. Those are some pretty nichelings you got. Do you have a list of names and relations of them?
  14. Rattlesnake Original ~~~~ -Ears are large but round, much like a painted wolf. -Eyes are a lovely yellow (before he went blind), with Rattlesnake himself being highly nearsighted. Even before going blind, he was quite reliant on his hearing and smell. -Rattlesnake’s snout is flat, resembling a mix between a hyena’s and a bulldog’s. His teeth are pointed, while his tongue is long, fitting for a dog-like creature like him. -Rattlesnake’s fur is short and coarse in texture. The fur itself is completely solid, with the longest patches being on his shoulders. -Rattlesnake has delicate, rabbit-like paws, which while not sharp, can still pack a punch when needed. His legs are structured for hopping rather than walking. He also lacks paw pads or claws in general. Rattlesnake broke his front left leg during a childhood incident after getting in a fight with another kid, causing it to become a deformed paw. -Rattlesnake’s tail is very long (about as long as his body, in fact), with a short, black tail tuft.
  15. I decided to show off the cast of my Niche playthrough, Lore and Legends. (will be updated in the future). Coast Original ~~~~ -Ears are large and fox-like, with keen hearing to boot. -Eyes are black with a slight yellowish tinge in coloration and are designed to keep water out of them. Coast herself is mildly nearsighted. -Coast’s body is made up of rough scales, with her beak and horns being especially hard parts of her skin. She has tiny keratin pads for teeth and a lengthy tongue within her mouth. -Gills are located on the side of the neck, which not only allow her to breathe underwater, but also on dry land. This means Coast has no lungs. -Coast’s body is mostly solid but has a few dull cream markings on it. It is fairly thin and streamlined, with a dolphin-like dorsal fin. -Coast’s claws are sharp, but webbed, with rough paw pads. She has a digitigrade foot position, much like a dog’s. The claws are not retractable (backside of the paw is seen without claws for better reference). -Coast’s tail is much like a beaver’s, meaning it’s paddle-like and scaled.
  16. I mostly just looked for food sources and bred when my creatures got low on life. My starters were a mossy-brown anteater and a big-bodied pinkish-brown guy. I think my male starter had something to do with it and the fact I found hotsprings to make sure my creatures didn't freeze to death. Eventually, the spiky-bodied kid of my starters froze to death and I couldn't do much about it (no console was used). It was more or less over by day 16.
  17. I tried this once and got only twenty days. This was normal sandbox settings, by the way.
  18. -No Albinism (dominant), Albinism (recessive). -No Melanism (both slots). -Normal Blood Clotting (both slots). -Chestnut Brown + Moss Brown Fur. -Brown and Beige Pattern. -No Pattern (dominant), Mask (recessive). -Pattern Type C and Pattern Type D. -Small Pattern (both slots). -Very Thin Pattern (both slots). -Medium Ears (both slots). -Bird Beak (both slots). -Ram Horns (both slots) -Black and Brown Horns. -Shortsighted Eyes (dominant), Blind Eyes (recessive). -Blue Eyes (both slots). -Medium Body (dominant), Water Body (recessive). -Runner Leg and Bearyena Claw. -Webbed Hind Legs (both slots). -Scorpion Tail (dominant), Peacock Tail (recessive). -Normal Fertility (both slots). -Immunities K and C. -Female. -Older teen or young adult age. (My real name's not Honor, that's the nicheling's name).
  19. I hope you get a male so you can breed Snowstorm. She could use some company (someone with high attack, maybe?).
