Went walking in our woods today, and look what we found! There were so many colorful mushrooms in the woods and some were huge! Thought I would share. Nature makes some beautiful surprises sometimes This picture includes the different types of mushrooms we found, including two hickory nuts and a blue jay feather. (Also a tiny sprig of...something in the second pic) 🍄 🍄🍄 (Sorry for the awful set lol)

Could you do this to creatures with non exclusive genes? sometimes I really need to get rid of perfectly good creatures but don’t want to kill or banish them.

I have Niche downloaded on one computer. It has 3 savefiles. I have just downloaded Niche on another computer using the same steam account. Will I be able to play the same savefiles from both computers? Thanks :)

Because some of the trees are different colors, there should be different varieties of tree colored nichelings too ^^ And what about something like the whale island ports' color? Love this idea!

Someone suggested a monkey tail too. (Though if you start on whale island it's quite easy to find wings)

I think your kids will be OK playing this game. I have been playing only for a week or so and I think it's fine, even great, for kids. There is of course death in this game, and 'rogue males,' creatures with bad genetics which try to get your female animals pregnant. But none of it is 'realistic' or intimate at all. I am still a teen and my twelve year old sister plays too. My four year old sister enjoys watching us play sometimes, and I would not allow that if I did not think the game was suitable for kids. She is too young to play as she doesn't understand the mechanics or genetics at all, but I think seven and nine, especially if they understand genetics, are good ages if they can understand how to play. I agree with @Wander that it can be difficult to understand the tutorial. I had been watching youtube videos of it before so I mostly understood how the game worked, and knew a lot more tips and tricks on how to play. I recommend your kids watch some video tutorials on youtube if they haven't already. Though I don't think they have any videos directly telling you how to play the game, there are several 'let's play' kid-friendly Niche youtubers like Jessimew and Seri! Pixel Biologist! That can help show them some tips like what healing plants are, and how to hunt for food. I watched Seri before getting the game and I feel much more prepared then I would have. I believe it is a one time fee. Though I got mine for free from one of the forum moderators. They sometimes will have steam key giveaways here on the forums, which are basically codes that you can enter to get a free niche. Around 20-30 people enter and there are usually 3 winners.

Ok so I started a new whale island save today in hopes of a quick start to a birds challenge. Started out pretty much starving to death but the tribe is doing pretty well now. Two things I noticed: 1. Rogue Males absolutely everywhere! It’s driving me crazy but I don’t hate the extra challenge. 2. Winged wanderers freaking everywhere!! I found a ton of wanderers, including three one winged females (one of which had a beak), a one winged male, a scorpion tailed male and a peacock tailed female. Also a double no paw and some other not so great finds. All within <40 days ^^ now I think I understand why this was moved to medium instead of easy. Good grief!

There is a grass mingle port to the north of my current tribe so I’m kinda curious. also I want to start a save file in whale island for a wings challenge. I have never been to an island above easy so I want to know what makes whale island medium so I can be prepared lol I’m so scared!

I always thought of it like a hog nosed kind of head. A short snout like head would be cute though.

My first starters had cracker jaw and purr snout. My sister’s starters (I took pity on her and let her have a save) were big nose and cracker jaw. i have never found a wanderer or starter with short snout.

I noticed that when you hover over some of the fur color icons in the mutation menu, it says “effects camouflage” instead of “affects camouflage” which is the way you spell it in this case. So maybe this could be fixed in the next update?? Sorry guys...I know I’m being a spelling nazi right now lol 🤓
