"Mountainkit always got into trouble with the warriors," The tom mewed. "He would always ask questions."

"When he was 3 moons old, his father died in a fight with a lynx." Dovesky added.

Celina was about to hiss a retort when she heard the comment about a kit. She softened, "A kit is gravely ill?"

Constellationkit saddened. "That must've been so hard for him..." she knew how it felt.

"It was," Dovesky mewed. "He eventually moved on though. Yes, he had a strong connection with his father, but he new that his father wouldn't want him grieving."

"Is there anything I can do to help?" Celina would've offered to bring the kit to her owners so they could heal it...but after her previous offers to wild cats she now realized they didn't really want help from humans...or help at all most of the time.

Constellationkit thought these words through. They seemed to resonate...but at the same time it seemed little comfort. At least I know my mother is...no longer asleep? She may be dead, but she doesn't sleep forever. If only Mountainkit could've known that too.

"We've been traveling since we left camp. We have to ask for help now, Shadownight." Midnightfur mewed calmly.

"Ofcourse you would say that." The tom mewed, then continued after Dovesky gave him a threatening glare. "Dovesky's mate was called Rabbitpatch."

She decided she would take a long route, going directly behind her toward the road, and then curving back around to get to the tree wihout running into one of Pallet's cats. "Keep quiet and in the underbrush. Pallet's cats patrol this area. We're going to head toward the road and then before we reach it cut over to the birch tree."

Celina narrowed her eyes, she didn't want to reveal too much to these strange cats... "Someone you don't want to meet," she growled, THAT is certainly true, she thought as she spoke the words "now follow me and keep quiet!"

"Wow!" said Constellationkit, it must be good to have someone who believed you. She was nearly itching to tell them, but surely they would think she was crazy. After all, Dovesky was Mountainstar's mother, and she didn't believe him. Shadownight believes me I think...at least she said the cats might be real...but she doesn't believe me about seeing my mother.

"Celina," she said, glancing towards the cats to be sure they were, indeed, hidden. She was really nervous about running into Pallet. What will she do to me if she sees me escorting these cats through her territory? But Celina was glad to be defying the she-cat, and besides, she wasn't a member of her group! And these cats were just on a mission, soon they would leave. She worried more about what Pallet would do to them...would she attack them as intruders? Take them captive? If she did the kit would die of its sickness! She had thought about it the whole way down and the worries continued flooding her mind.

Celina looked back in front of her and nodded. She didn't want to be seen talking. If she was spotted, she wanted it to look like she was traveling alone. Because the birch tree had been spotted when she first followed Amethyst, it was incidentally nearby the way to her house. She could say she was following the road before crossing.

"Lilypath taught him that from the oldest cat to the youngest should always be cared for, even if your an apprentice, a warrior, or even leader. And Mountainpaw took her words into consideration." Dovesky mewed.
