Philo Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Having a tribe of 30+ animals makes performing tasks quite micromanagement heavy. Automation of animals could help with this problem. How about giving animals roles which allow them to perform interactions by themselves. For example you can assign an animal to be berry gatherer. Then each time when you end the day and the animal still has action points left, it will automatically collect berries when sitting next to a berry bush. Other roles could be hunter, defender, etc. This would make playing with big tribes more fun. 1
Micha Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 +1 Cool idea, another role could be fisher, where animals angle nearby fish. 1
TamTroll Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 this may be difficult if it involves movement, as you may get cases of a creature bugging out and leaving the berry bush he is assigned too when it is out of berries to move to one that still has berries that maybe you didn't know about, putting him in danger, and leaving his first bush un-attended for the next day while he wanders. Things like being able to lock them to one tile and collect on any nearby resources would be good though, would allow you to place one creature beneath a tree or between two berry bushes, and they just collect from any fallen acorns or the berry bushes without moving from that spot.
Yoji Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 +1 Brilliant idea. I always forget who has the most points in certain types of gathering, etc; this is great!
crisw Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 +1 I was going to post the exact same idea- this has worked well in other games like Age of Empires.
Tana Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Oh yeah. that's an awesome idea. I definetly want this :-)
Niche fan Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 Hope the designated role s are added. Maybe a guard position could be added also to protect the babies from birds .
CeruleanSilver Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 This sounds awesome. I love having large groups for security and being able to pick out desired traits, and I spend a couple minutes each round just picking berries.
