  1. ok so im looking to buy the niche soundtrack soon, and i listened to some of it on bandcamp and uh some of this music isnt in the game COUGH ive never heard "frosty jungle" in the game. Everything else ive heard, but this just didnt sound right? Which island is this from?
  2. A Wanderer with bad genes appears. What will you do with them? I often kill nichelings with bad genes unless im desperate for genes A sickly baby is born, and you don't want it in your tribe. What will you do with them? I either send them off on their own, or feed them to birds/predators at a young age A Bearyena appears, and all your creatures only have one strength. Do you fight it off and suffer the consequences, or run and hope for the best? i have some attack/destract it, while others run One of your favorite creatures is really slow, and gets left behind when the tribe heads for the port. Do you wait for them, or go on ahead without them? i always make my best go first, so this often never happens. If were not in a rush, then we wait. If we are, we leave them. A Bearyena appears, and you kill it. It has a baby, and the tribe has an okay amount of food. What do you do? By "ok" i assume you mean mid amount (say alot is 100, ok would be 50) i would probably invite it, then if we need food later well eat the baby
  3. thanks! also, the last one wasnt even suppossed to be in the post but it appeared so i just left it lol
  4. So I'm sure a lot of people have already suggested bug collecting snouts, or ways to collect bugs as a food source, but I really like this idea so here we go. People of the Niche forums, i present to you..... THE FROODLE!! That's right!! This cute little guy can be found an nearly every island, and can provide a LOT of food to your tribe! Why's it called the Froodle? Cause I'm lazy and couldn't figure out a good name for him. So yeah! FROODLES FOR DAYSSSSS!!! How's the Froodle found? The Froodle is found in tree stumps, after a stump has been broken open. A stump can be broken by a creature of 10 strength, and once open, a swarm of Froodles will fall out. The Froodles are too scared to move away from trunk, so no worries about them scurrying off. Here's a pic with some info: Once the trunk is open, the Froodles will crawl out and sit around. The bugs can only be collected by Nichelings with Nimble fingers, or the Insect snout. (snout collects 3 bugs at a time, the fingers collect 1 per paw, 2 if you have double paws.) The bugs are easily scared! So if you sleep by the trunk (pass a day with someone next to it) the bugs will hide back in the trunk! The only way to reach them then is with the Insect snout. The bugs will come back out only if you sit a tile or more away for two days. The bugs give 1 food per bug, and you can collect 10 a day (if the trunk is fully swarming with bugs) so with the snout you can collect a max of 9 bugs a day. The bugs will grow back 1 on a normal, not raining day. On a raining day, two more bugs will grow back. (by grow back I mean a bug appears, like berries grow back every day.) You don't need to worry about the bugs disappearing, there's always some hiding deep in the trunk, reproducing so the bugs never go extinct. Much like Bunnils. The main problem to deal with is the trunk itself - it won't go back to the old trunk, and you can't sit on it. So be careful with trunk you break. Another thing - other wanderers can also collect the bugs. (And you can attempt to collect bugs.) ALSO the bugs wont appear in snow mountains, so you cant break trunks on a mountain island. Only in jungles, and grassland islands (and where ever else they can appear) PHEW! Now that that's over, here's the bug collecting snout! (Insectivorous snout, or my name for it, Sticky tongue snout) The Sticky tongue snout isn't hard to get, and can be unlocked after collecting, or attempting to collect, 30 bugs. The snout is about as rare as purr snout, so it can be found on wanderers: The snout has one collecting, three bug collecting, and two smelling. The snout looks like a big nose, but slightly rounder at the edge with a long tongue sticking out like so: WELL THATS IT HOPE YOU LIKE IT
  5. Increasespawn (i think its "PlayerAnimal") you gotta spam it tho
  6. thank you! I didnt know about the hibernation thing, and its good to know about the locking thing. Ill do some tests on these things to see if i can use them in actual saves to avoid predators.
  7. I created a save consisting of impossible-to-kill nichelings, to help me study the behavior of Bearyenas (which nichelings theyll attack before others based off of looks.) Here are some pictures i took: Are there things youve noticed about Bearyenas that could help with my research? Noticed anything about other predators? Please comment, and ill update my research!
  8. i might be mistaken with the patterns, but i think theres more tails than just fluffy and swimming. one person said they found one with stinky tail
  9. see thats the thing. i cant find any rogue males with tails other than fluffy
  10. my friend says rogue males only have fluffy tail and dont have patterns, even tho ive found many swimming tail rogues, and i swear ive seen a spotted one (cant be sure tho) any help solving this problem?
  11. https://steamcommunity.com/groups/niche_challenges/discussions/0/1693797713961534350/ curse challenge by my good friend mizzi ^^
  12. all i know is giving a female male peacock tail, takes away the tail entirely. im not sure about giving males female peacock tail.
  13. i know i made a post a while back, but heres an official version of my nicheling gene generator! https://perchance.org/nicheling-maker this includes a few new syllables for the names aswell. once new genes are released, they will be added here. if you have ideas for new syllables, tell me! ill add them!
  14. i havent seen siblings, but i found a mother and son once! they had 1 matching immunities, similar genes and recessives, and they looked fairly similar! i was in a story perspective for the save, so this was really cool
  15. the rules state not to post things that have already been posted, like multiple suggestions for the same gene or in this case, multiple suggestions for the same island. maybe you should search to ensure your post is original, so you dont have to deal with this.
  16. i REALLY like the "perfect jungle nichelings" (black fur, white spots, double velvet, stinky tail, big ears and lean body) i also love digging creatures so diggers paw and digging snout are my faves
  17. what does "Anala" and "Isis" mean?
  18. Howdy! i did post this on twitter so yeah, you might see it there.... but i decided id post it here too As you can see here, there are multiple things wrong. For one, the port has a river running through it. Is this normal, or a generation bug? For two, my starters have genes that would normally not appear on starters. The male has platypus beak, and water body, while the female has gills, and double webbed paws. NORMAL?? also, the color of the water. Its been a joke between me and my friend that i hate purple water, but like, why is it purple? is that a bug too??
  19. did you catch a rabbil next to a carni flower? thats how mine got glitched lol, be careful around carni plants kids
  20. ive experienced grey water, but ive never seen this glicth before. (i have this fear of the water changing color for some reason, so this wouldve made me shit my pants lol)
  21. same happens to me! i thought it was just a bug the devs would fix? guess not, most of my tribes have grey-pink water now lol
