  1. Hmmm.... Maybe a female? Since it's only been males before now and that's not been going well. Whoever they are could drive the tribe to hard to move onto new lands, or drive them too hard to gather grass (since so much of it is regrowing), just as an idea. Raincloud looks very well suited to the climate.
  2. This is what I get for reading the second page first.
  3. Start on Deep Jungle killer island. Sandbox Settings: Ages: Infant: 3 Child: 3 Teen: 6 Adult: 24 Pregnancy: 6 Damage/Healing Enemy: 3 Environment: 3 Hunger: 3 Healing: 1 Gameplay: Food: 15 Nesting Material: 0 Tribe Limit: 36 Blind Gene Mode ON Unlock All Genes OFF World Settings: Friend Meat-Eating Plants OFF Harmless Termite Hill OFF Genes: Story: Criteria detirmines place in the tribe (see below) There are three bloodlines: Stealth, Vibrancy and Ferocity, each have their own criteria and leader. Stealth is ruled by a female Queen They never clear grass They do not eat from stinky fruit trees unless they have rolled in mud AND have stinky tail Only the royalty can fight apes (Queens only fight if they already have an heir) Queen can only have one daughter (her heir) Vibrancy is ruled by a male King and his queens They try to nest in trees or on stumps if they can The King has two princes, these may or may not be related to him. The King and the princes are the only males allowed to breed. The King and princes are often challenged (see below) Ferocity is ruled by the strongest (male or female)They mate for life They will always fight apes. Their Ruler must beat at least three challengers before being accepted. Criteria for place in the Stealth tribe (the alphas have higher numbers, omegas have less). Black fur +1 (+3 if double) Dots +2 Velvet paw +2 Runner's Leg +1 Lean Body +3 Toxic Body +2 Stinky Tail +1 Big ears +1 Criteria for Queen of Stealth tribe (used if current queen dies without an heir) Criteria in Stealth Tribe (see above) White savannah horns +3 Other-coloured savannah horns +2 Other white horns +1 Venomous fangs +3 Black pattern +2 Black eyes +2 Criteria for place in Vibrancy tribe (also used for determining King, creature with higher criteria has a 80% chance of becoming/staying King. If you don’t want to roll, just say that they remain/become King) Bright fur (use your judgement) +2 Bright/bold pattern +2 Peafowl tail +5 Wings +2 (+4 if double) Criteria for place in Ferocity tribe. Their Ruler must have higher than average criteria to become Ruler. Then, they must beat at least three challengers (challenging and winning a challenge with the current Ruler counts as beating a challenger. In a challenge, the creature with higher criteria has a 80% chance of winning. Those who lose a challenge die of their wounds (drown them)). Strength +1 per 1 Venom +2 Heat resistance +1 per 1 Apes killed by creature +4 per 1 Challenge won +2 per 1 Enjoy!
  4. I make this sound final, but I've not fully made up my mind.
  5. I kind of want to separate pouncing on small creatures (bunnils, crabbits, fish) and 'ambushing' (pouncing on large creatures, like bears). A nicheling needs to be within sensing and their speed to 'pounce'. A nicheling needs to be within sensing and 2 tiles to 'ambush'. Pouncing will do as much damage as the creature has strength. Ambushing might do a bit more/only work if the large creature (bear, ape, wanderer) can't sense the nicheling.
  6. Yeah... I'll save that idea for something else. Bet someone else has already thought of it anyway. I've changed it. Now, you can pounce on large creatures (wanderers, bears etc) if they are within 2 tiles of you. I'm thinking I might make it so that the pouncing creature does a lot more damage if the large creature can't see/hear/smell them.
  7. What I was thinking was: creatures without horns would do less damage because they can't run headfirst into the enemy. My idea was that the 'pouncing' on predators/larger creatures could be more along the lines of the creature ramming into them. Though I guess that wouldn't make sense for a hindlegs gene. I'll do some editing.
  8. I don't think so. I think it's: When you are making a nicheling in the sandbox settings you can 'lock' the dominate genes so that if you leave the other to be randomized, it will always be recessive. For example: if you give a nicheling ram horns in the sandbox settings and 'lock' it and leave the other gene random, that random gene will never be no horns.
  9. This is great! I know this is almost two years old but can I make a few suggestions? Instead of bright yellow fur colour it should be beige (otherwise you'd get a lot of banana creatures) The hindlegs are a little over powered (compare to bearyena hindlegs) The sharp eyes are a little over powered Perhaps they'd only give +1 sight in every biome other than savvanah? The forelegs would require webbed paw to be balanced Perhaps they shouldn't give swimming? The body should give a little stealth
  10. Hmm I really like all these ideas! I'll try to clarify a bit (and put my own spin on it), in case anyone reading this is confused Pouncing Given by the first gene in the list above You can pounce on small prey (bunnils, fish, crabbits) within the distance of your speed, dealing as much damage as you have attack You can even try to pounce on birds of prey if they are close to you. You can run towards and attack predators, wanderers, rouge males etc using just one action (for running towards and attacking combined). They have to be in the distance your creature can run (not fly or swim). This is reduced if you have no horns/antena or megahorns You can try to jump onto tree branches but you won't always succeed Here's an idea, for the climbing ability, what if it was just bearyena hindlegs that could climb? That would make them a lot more useful. I really like the idea of expanding the number of hindlegs and making the current ones more useful.
  11. Added a head gene! And now the hindlegs give only +1 speed and no longer disables horns. I was thinking, instead of the pouncing ability just working on prey (like wings) they could also work on predators if the creature has horns? Maybe if the creature has any horn other than Megahorns (and antenna obviously)?
  12. I'd rather keep these ideas unique to this post, for simplicity's sake.
  13. I've noticed this kind of thing before. If I come across it again, I'll try to screenshot it.
  14. Savefiles are made by creating a new tribe. If you want to back up your savefiles you can just copy and paste them into another folder. Then, if you lose your savefile, you will have an older backup. This post explains how to find savefiles: Once you find them, copy and paste them into another folder. Then, if you lose your tribe, you can move the savefile-copy back into the saves folder. Remember that your tribe will be where they were when you copied the backup savefile. Hope this helps.
  15. Technically, only obligate herbivores couldn't eat meat. Deer have been documented to eat meat and carrion for example (ew). Obligate carnivores (like cats) can NOT eat plants. Regular carnivores (like dogs) can survive on plants (it's just not good for them). So while obligate carnivores wouldn't be able to digest plants, carnivores could but they might lose health due to a poor diet. Same thing with herbivores (but with meat of course). I hope this makes sense. I was just thinking that 'allergies' are more of a human thing (due to a bored immune system I've heard). (squirrel eating a snake) https://www.earthtouchnews.com/natural-world/predator-vs-prey/nothing-to-see-here-just-a-squirrel-eating-a-snake/ I can turn this into it's own post if you want. I hope I'm not being rude.
  16. Okay, I'll add more genes as I come up with good ones. Anything I can change about the current ones to improve them?
  17. Hmm, I bet it's that then. I haven't found a way to fix it yet. Also, when you got this bug, did it effect every nicheling? That's what happened to me. (twice).
  18. This looks great! I love reading other people's playthroughs. For the last time spellcheck, I KNOW! I suppose adding more challenge to it would make it more popular? Rather than just 'wait until you get a girl'. (Don't mean that in a criticizing way) Also, welcoming to the online school community! I've been here a year. And I get to sleep in until noon every single day! MUHAHAHAHA!
  19. I need to get some sort of visual for this.
  20. You should be able to change which nicheling is eating what. Partly for role-playing purposes. Perhaps - also just for story/role-play - you could even see what meat came from bearyena, what came from bunnil and so on. Then you could have nichelings who could only eat meat that came from apes thank you very much while the lower class eat bunnils. Also, spellcheck hates me.
