  1. District: 6 Cherry Cherry isn't especially bright and probably wouldn't win any beauty contest, but (and this is after all the thing most important in a nicheling) she has a HUGE heart. She befriends almost anyone, including rabbils, which makes her a pretty sorry hunter - and an unlikely Hunger Games winner. Her only chance is to soften up her opponents and turn them into hippies, thus sabotaging the whole murder process. Here's her photo, she's posing alongside her youngest son: Ryuk Ryuk is a handsome fella, if you're into trunks. He's handsome and he knows it; he spends his waking hours sitting by a lake, admiring his reflection. Sometimes he is forced to do something else, e. g. fight bearyenas, but he can't quite focus and often ceases to fight altogether, falling into yet another daydream about his own brilliance. Thankfully his beauty is so overwhelming it stuns most bearyenas as well; they freeze on place and contemplate Ryuk's fine figure, becoming easy targets for Ryuk's uglier relatives. The photo below shows Ryuk sitting magnificently on a tree stump and two females from his tribe watching him with adoring eyes.
  2. Summer Mountains and trunks combo is super easy. I keep my pack at 8 - 15 members, so they collect tons of food and yet don't eat much of it; thanks to bearyena genes (friendly bearyenas keep spawning and spawning and spawning - I haven't been without one for over 90 days xD), my nichelings are pretty strong and can deal fairly quickly even with a bear. So in the end, the only nuisance are rogues (but even their kids usually turn out decent and useful) and bluebirds. poor Lare, one of numerous victims (somehow I never notice them rogues on time) first (and so far last) twins in what feels like forever oh, and here's a baby of Lare and the rogue (whom Lare's friend murdered in the name of revenge ^^) and a first ramfox! (of course it wasn't hanging out on its own - but more the food, the merrier) while still dealing with the ramfoxes, a bear paid us a visit. I think he might have killed two nichelings or so, but in the end, it was my pack who emerged victorious! even bearyenas sometimes hunt in packs. we killed the deer too. and yup, still the same bear, even my luck is limited. a big friendly bearyena coming to my rescue. ❤️ not that I needed it. yet another assault, this time in the top right corner (she killed him, like, with one blow). some more ramfoxes (and the 100th day!) at least this one didn't hurt anyone (and was polite enough to say hi). DO YOU SEE THAT COOL BABY BOY?! He looks so badass I was seriously afraid the bearyena would eat my deer here's the cool guy again, this time all grown up ^^ until next time
  3. @Basil, ooh, okay, makes more sense now. Thanks!
  4. one of my very first ratty boys (sadly, the only one who would actually pose for me - but no wonder he did, he was a looker) anyway, he also had white tummy, it was the cutest thing ever ^^
  5. oh my, black or red teeth would be hilarious!
  6. phew, but surely the trunk was pairable with your starters! don't you dare outdo me like this.
  7. the bear story cracked me up. and i thought i had it bad with bearyenas spawning constantly... under such conditions, you're doing awesome.
  8. my starters. not the cutest couple nor the most "winter-y" genes, but hey, it's a challenge! a first kid and a defrosted has-a-digging-trunk lady (who unfortunately shares an immunity gene with my male. oh well.) on the top of the picture can also be seen a bit of a tree stump. my male sits on it and is calling out for wanderers. a bad idea. a very bad idea indeed. see? a bad idea. and another one. since the first time my precious digging trunk got severely injured, the second time around i decided not to risk it and tried to escape - instead, i lured bearyena to the rest of my tribe - which has thankfully grown by then. ^^ a third bearyena. yay. lucky me and a fourth one. i'm cursed. but the prospective orphan! btw, the sick lady isn't my doing, we just took her in. i'm done, fighting off bearyeans is exhausting. gonna carry on next time.
  9. @Brokenshock OK then, I'd like to join. ^^
  10. How much time would we have for this? As my Christmas break is coming to an end and I'm expecting a ton of schoolwork, I won't really be able to play much per day (given I'd survive long enough to have such issue :)).
  11. sorry about the last stray picture. can't undo it, for some reason. problem solved!
  12. are there seriously NO teens or kids? so I'll have to breed myself a new leader. ^^ but first, it's time to get his or her mum, Angel, onto the next island... I wouldn't want my baby to drown. (Angel's the whitish lady on the tree island) here she is! my matriarch, Reanara - later renamed Chiquita. a few days later, Chiquita is all grown up and a mother of her own daughter, Caramel. another child born that day is Isaac, the son of Hercules, who also happens to be Chiquita's father, and of Anamera, a spikey wanderer accepted to the tribe. day 85. it's time to travel to a new island. we only have to wait until little Gilgamesh and Ananké and newborn Rea get a bit older and mobile. ^^ but wait! who's this? changing plans. old momma bearyena was defeated successfully (not one member of the tribe got injured!) and Chiquita, being the leader, has gotten a privilege to invite poor orphaned baby bearyena in. also little Vanta was born. a wanderer! and I wanted to keep the numbers low... our bearyena's finally adult. time to unlock some bearyena claws. ^^ welcome Herodes, the bearyena hybrid! also Chiquita's given birth to Opaque, her fourth child. day 99, Chiquita died of old age, giving birth to her fifth and last child, Nikita. Who's going to be the new leader? There are five youngsters to pick from: Felicitas, Nikita, Opaque, Job, Herodes (the bold ones all have home island immunity) As for the family tree, I am going to update it, if my predecessor does. 13. Since nothing's moved here for TWO WHOLE DAYS (apologies for my non-existent patience ^^), I'd like to take over now.
  14. What about nimble fingers? I think they deserve at least +1 insect collecting as well.
  15. Female nichelings could use their wooly coats to build temporary nests! It would cover 5/10 points (the remaining 5 would still be twigs of grass) and the female would lose 1 cold resistance point; she would regain it obce her fur'd grow back - in 3 days.
  16. Yes please! The game keeps track of this already (for normal blood clotting mutation, up to generation 10), so it wouldn't have to be too difficult to make it visible to players as well.
  17. @BirdsAreCool I don't know any details, but basically, the hairs help to "catch" soundwaves and direct them into the ear. Trying to attach a proof, hope it's gonna work.
  18. The hairs on lynx ears have a hearing boost function IRL, don't they?
  19. It would be amazing to have more storylines. But I'm not sure about the Creek's one - how is he to survive, without means to collect food?
  20. I love this idea, on the condition the nicheling in question would need to have all the bearyena genes that are available, and they'd all need to show (i. e. hidden recessives wouldn't count). Also both front legs would have to be bearyena claws. And (this is a huge one ^^), it would be possible to mate with regular bearyenas only (not with the killers).
  21. This was my first and also the last successful attempt to create a more or less uniformly-looking pack. I loved them all, including the twins. RIP
  22. So yesterday I managed to get there after all, took me ca 1100 game days - significantly more than 10 real life hours, although it is true I hadn't been playing in rush. As expected, without the immunity I couldn't really interact with the natives; what disappointed me most, though, was that the one interactive option I was given - attack - didn't work, either. The target took no damage (that's the disappointing part), and instead harmed or even killed quite a few of my own guys. Consequently, I decided to restart and try to keep the Star running. Boy, it's frikking hard! I've been trying the speed version of yours, Jojo, but now I got to a Mountain island, and I'm a sucker for that. ^^
  23. Ah well, thank you guys. By the way, how long did it take you to get to the Home island? @Skysplash8 @Snowy Owl
  24. Wait, so it's required to keep the Home island immunity? 'Cause I lost it like (literally) a thousand game days ago.
