@Sky We never had trouble with underaged mods. It's just to be on the save side if something would happen.
Made this decision after talking to other community managers who recommended us to do so.
It only applies to new mods though!-

- will there be any Niche easter eggs? its be really cool to see the whale in there somewhere! --> don't know yet
- will the villagers have names? can you rename them? --> Yes
- do the villagers pair up and have kids? how do you get more villagers? --> It's not that exsplicit, but kind of yes.
- ARE THERE BABY VILLAGERS OMG ---> currently not, don't know about the finished game
- are villagers born with jobs or do they receive them at a certain age? do you choose their jobs? --> They can swich jobs anytime
- do villagers die of old age? are there actual days in-game? do you have turns or just a timer until the day automatically ends? --> currently not, don't know about the final game
- does the player guide the village through an actual village leader (THAT'D BE SO COOL!! like Spore!) or are you like in Niche? --> don't know yet
- how do you get down to the ground? ladders? gliders? ships?? --> you only send out missions
