mhiahia
This site is dedicated to recording all former, current and future nichelings of The Nicheling preservation Programme 2020. This database is meant to help both our researcher as well as our supporters keep track of the individuals, family relations and genomes. The Nicheling Preservation Programme can be found here: Deceased Nichelings These nichelings have lived on our island and died. #001 "Zeri" Generation 0 #001, "Zeri", was together with #002 the first nicheling on the island. She had been cloned using the remains of a nicheling who belonged to a population not related to the rest of the species. #001 was born and raised by a surrogate mother and acquainted with her mate #002 during her adolescence. Together #001 and #002 raised four cubs, all of which survived into adulthood (#003, #004, #005 and #006). #001 died together with her mate on the night of day 17. #002 "Zarim" Generation 0 Just like his mate, #002 was cloned using remains of a deceased nicheling. "Zarim" was neither related to #001 nor to the remaining nicheling population. #002 and #001 raised four cubs together, all of which managed to survive into adulthood (#003, #004, #005 and #006). #002 showed a particualr liking of berry-picking, and died side by side with #001 on the night of day 17. #003 "Niim" Generation 1 #003, "Niim", was the first nicheling to be born on the island. After growing into an adult she migrated to perimeter 4, where she was socialised with her mate #007. Together, the pair raised two male cubs, #010 and #011. #003 died on day 29 due to old age, leaving her mate and adult offspring behind. #004 "Ilael" Generation 1 #004, "Ilael", was the second cub born on the island. She separated from her family shortly after becoming an adult and relocated to the northern part of perimeter 1. There she was introduced her mate #009 and had three cubs with him (#013, #014 and #015), the last one at an unusually old age. When she died on day 31 only two of her cubs had grown into adults. #007 "Elrosti" Generation 1 #007, "Elrosti", comes from a nicheling research center in the north. He was introduced to his mate #003 soon after she had migrated to P4. The two pair-bonded quickly and raised two cubs together (#010, #011). #007 taught his offspring both how to fish and hunt, a skill previously unknown to the population. After #003's death he and his cubs have been observed to move north, towards P3. He died unexpectedly of old age. Current Nichelings These are the nichelings we currently observe on the island. #006 "Lonta" Generation 1 #006, "Lonta", is the only male cub of #001 and #002. His growth had been stunted after birth, but excessive DNA testing showed that this was most likely a hormonal and not a genetical issue. #006 has remained at the place of his birth until now, living there with his mate #008 and their male cubs (#012, #016). Like his sister #005 he too suffers from shortsightedness, but has been kept on the island due to his gender and the fact that #008 was a very well fit mate for him. #008 "Eve" Generation 1 #008, "Eve", has been given to us by @alex602h and was introduced to her mate #006 soon after both of them had reached adulthood. The two of them pair-bonded very slow. She was very protective of ther first cub #012, and only recently had a second cub after #012 grew up. #009 "Lurroduk" Generation 1 #009, "Lurroduk", has been given to us by @PincerClaw420 and was the last mate of generation 1 to be brought to the island. He and his mate #004 have three cubs together, two of which had grown into adults when #004 died. #009 is currently grieving for his mate and caring for their cubs (#013, #014 and #015). #011 "Zul" Generation 2 #011, "Zul", is the younger cub of #003 and #007. He has been taught how to fish and hunt by his father. AFter #003 died, #011 and his remaining family have started to migrate towards perimeter 3. We are currently looking for a mate for him. #012 "Lami" Generation 2 #012, "Lami", is the firstborn cub of #006 and #008. After birth he showed very little vital signs, leading to a part of our team believing he might've been stillborn. His later developement has been normal however, and our team currently intends to keep him on the island. #013 "Helza" Generation 2 #013 was the first cub of #004 and #009. She has only recently grown onto an adult, and after testing of her genome will also certainly remain on the island. #014 "Anli" Generation 2 #014 is the second cub of #004 and #009. Since the genes he has received from his father are almost completely different from those his sister #013 carries he will be kept on the island. #017 "Vanta" Generation 2 #017 has been given to us by @Okay and is intended to become #013's mate. #018 "Cloydy Skies" Generation 2 #018 has been given to us by @Lilyturf and is intended to be #011's mate. Former Nichelings These nichelings have been relocated either to a different programme or to a zoo, where they will contribute to the diversification of their species. #005 "Laah" Generation 1 #005 was the third cub of #001 and #002 and one of the two born with severe shortsightedness. As she already had two healthy female siblings it was decided that she'd be relocated to a zoo after reaching adulthood. She has been succesfully integrated into her new tribe and had four cubs from different males which she raised with the help of her female mate. Candidates These nichelings come from other organisations or from individuals but haven't been taken to the island yet. "Vuzu", owned by @SilverHowl "Tomato Soup" owned by @Lilyturf Leaving Nichelings These nichelings come from our population, but can't continue to stay on the island, either due to genetical deficiencies, population issues or problematic behaviour. They will be given to zoos or different programmes, so they can still contribute to the survival of their species. If one of our nichelings fits your programme, let us know! #010 "Tuku" Generation 2 #010 is the older cub of #003 and #007. As his genome is slightly less ideal than that of his brother, due to the fact that he carries recessive shortsightedness, it has been decided that he will be relocated to another programme or zoo. #010 shows a friendly, amiable nature. #015 "Vitoah" Generation 2 Gender Ratio This section is dedicated to keeping track of the female:male ratio born in different generations. Gen 1: 3:1 Gen 2: 1:6 1 1 2
