The very ground beneath your feet is cracking. Starhenge, once the platform which the Celestials stood upon, is falling. This is the cataclysm… Congratulations, young one! You are lucky enough to be one of the few monsters who survived the disastrous event later known as the cataclysm. The Great Pause has begun... What happens now? Well, that’s up to you! Lore For eons, there was peace. The continent, divided into 5 elemental lands of plant, cold, air, water and earth, lay in the centre of the monster world. Around it, 4 strange islands, (Party island, Space island (in space), Cloud island, and Cave island (underground)). Above it, Starhenge, a flying clockwork structure exactly halfway up in the sky, a platform where the godly Celestials once stood. But, with an oversupply of teleportation energy, everything… changed. Location statuses The Continent The five lands of the continent split off into their own islands. Additionally, the air lands floated up a bit, and the water lands sank underwater (with an air bubble around the island for… reasons) Continent volcano The fire elementals had no land of their own to go while escaping the cataclysm, so a few species fled into the volcano, and eventually built Fire Haven inside. For a long time, they’ll be presumed extinct. Starhenge What is left of Starhenge is… missing… where are the Celestials? Party island The sea monster supporting party island fled into the ocean at the first signs of the cataclysm, and therefore most of the land it was sank. If you were here, you probably drowned. A little bit of rock is left, and a few Fluoress specimens emerge from the pocket dimension, out into the ruins… this will be light island one day. Just not yet. Space island Space island’s orbit was disrupted, sending it flying across space onto the back of a gigantic being. Many did not survive the impact, or were sent flying into outer space. But a portal opens, and a few Thereminds hover out, confused… this will psychic island one day. Just not yet. Cloud island The floating island falls from the sky, it’s clouds blowing away in the whooshing winds. Nearly every monster, too, fell into the abyss of the living ocean. The colourful wooden structures, once adding beauty to the landscape, are ravaged like everything else. However, a small flock of Floot Flies exit the pocket dimension… this will be faerie island one day. Just not yet. Cave Island Being underground, Cave Island, instead of sinking or falling, collapsed. Good thing you weren’t one of the many crushed by falling rocks and crystals. After the dust clears, in the space left a few Clackulas end up tossed out of the pocket dimension, into this new place… This will be bone island one day, just not yet. Pocket dimension The pocket dimension (ethereal island and magical sanctum) was mostly unaffected by the cataclysm, apart from some single-element magicals being teleported out into the ruins of their respective islands (as mentioned earlier), and the same probably happened with single-element ethereals on the corresponding islands. While I will allow you to rp as these, don’t be in the pocket dimension, the rp won’t be as interesting. Monsters you can and can’t be You can be almost any monster, but not: -Magical and ethereal class monsters that aren’t single element (so the ones from these categories you can play as are Fluoress, Theremind, Floot Fly, Clackula, Ghazt, Grumpyre, Reebro, Jeeode, and Humbug). Double-element Ethereals are exclusive to the pocket dimension, and so are Sanctum Magicals. Double, triple and quad magicals (off the top of my head, examples include Withur, Plinkajou, Bridg-it, Gob, ect) that aren’t exclusive to magical sanctum don’t exist yet. -For the most part, you can’t really be fire-class monsters that are not on Fire Haven… they’re all dead now. You can be one of you start on the ruins of an outer island, but in that case you’ll probably be the last of your kind anyway.
