  2. I love putting colorful weapons on my ships, and the particle effects are glorious. I recently started outfitting a new snake ship design, and spent some extra time in the weapon design interface. I really want to put in weapons of different colors, but I've been unable to find a reason to use anything but yellow. Digging lasers need to be yellow for maximum dig power Enemy destruction weapons need to be yellow for max damage Blue could freeze super-powerful enemies faster than you can kill, but in general more damage is better Red can spread on enemy ships, but you risk overheating your own components and damage is better Green seems likely to kill yourself by spawning terrain in your own ship positions I'd love to have lots of colors of lasers and flamethrowers going every which way, but I can't choose anything but Yellow without making a sub-par loadout. I would love to see another way to get colors into weapons. Some possible ideas: Unlockable free assignment of colors from missions Colors based on weapon upgrade power Colors unlocked by capturing enemies with the specified weapon color Ammo that changes color in flight: ie. fades from yellow to blue Please let me put on blue lasers without making my ships weak!

  3. Yeah! Let us create rainbow-weaponry 🌈🌈🌈 Different colors could have an effect like more range with less damage from red to violet or something like that...

  4. Very sorry for the double post, but I just played for a couple of hours and got some of the coolest Nichelings. First we have the Twins! Their parents were older and not having very good children, but I decided to breed them one last time on mom's last day. Behold! Nightfury and ShadowClaw. Next, Violet and her mother. Violet is my first patterned Toxic body. I actually didnt know they could have patterns. Last two pictures are of my favorite breeding pair and their growing family.

  5. I think it would be awesome to have the option to toggle the genes on and off so that we can play a "blind genes mode" in which we can't look at the genes our nichelings are carrying, to make the game more interesting and challenging. That way we could look at the family tree and change nichelings' names without having to look at the genes. It could also be activated or deactivated during the game, that way, for example, you could set yourself a goal and once you reach it you can toggle on the genes and look at them. What do you think?

  7. @Jojo "Stinky (Nicheling)" meant to refer to the stinky fruit debuff, not the tail. That was poorly worded. There was some pick all the stinky fruits! Breed all for bright fur! Going on. There have been some issues with ape spawn rates, maybe. People haven't been too sure. As mentioned, I could hear the apes moving and attacking wanderers. They are in the jungle, at least, and quite often close. Bearyenas did not attack my spiky creatures, though. Didn't even know that was still around. Though the worst I can imagine would be piranhas going chuck norris and attacking all land creatures before they can even bleed. Or Loner ladies creating a horde with the rogues. That steals your food. And fills every tile of the island. Better not give that game any inspiration.

  8. @RandomWanderer yeah bearyenas seem to lock on to certain Nichelings (they still attack spiky bodied Nichelings instead of non spiky body ones) as I said I am not a 100% sure how the senses work. Usually they work really well on the apes but as @Philo (how does it actually work?) mentioned in another thread the predators have stats for hunger and stuff. So when a smelling ape is super hungry it will even eat Nichelings with the stinky tail, though that does not solve the problem that you sometimes can't outrun predators *thinking * Maybe it's a bug?

  9. Mmm... a single creature receiving 3 damage isn't really worth it to me in the early game. Add 2-3 days of movement there... 2 or so back... I wouldn't go for 10 food in 8ish days. In the late game, 10 food for 5 ish days isn't exactly that useful, either. If you stock, that is. Maybe up the food to 15 (2/day) and then some with the badger snout. If the gene can't be found in the mutation menu, but the purrsnout can... I guess you can see where this is going. Could the bees also be (no puns!) eaten by the bat-head? Bees usually just fly away though. (No puns about the unbelievable)I suppose this is where the ants come in? As they are bees, though, I'd find it nice if the 50% chance would mean they could boost berry production. % systems have been rejected up to this point tough, maybe they could also glow red when angered or something. Just some points to consider.

  16. I do wonder what that would be. A cosmetic? A really powerful late game ability, such as the chance to mutate immunity genes? Fur that offers camouflage in every biome? A new head, paw or tail?
