What poke means is that there could be separate genes that determine if the animal has heterochromia or not. The most dominant gene is no heterochromia, then right eye heterochromia, then left eye. right?

Or make the 'huts' be more like grassy shelters/caves that they can hide in...

I have another suggestion!! What if as well as -1 cold resistance it also gave +1 heat resistance and something I call +1 cooling (like radiation but with the opposite effect) Because I imagine the wings could provide shade for the nicheling and it could fan surrounding nichelings with its wings (this would only go into effect in hot weather)

I thought of something similar, an Earth Biome! It is similar in that it contains all biomes representing real continents on earth. There could be a snowy Antarctica, deep jungles of south America, African Savannah, Himalayan mountains, and swamps like in the southern US! There will also be an ocean obviously. Each individual island varies in that the earth is from a different perspective each time, ie the center might be Asia, or the Atlantic ocean, or north america.

What I think would be cool are deceased Nichelings appearing as ghostly wanderers (you can’t invite them into the tribe). Maybe they are just for fun or maybe they provide benefits i think reincarnations would be cool too

I think that it should say "_________ has died from old age" if they reach their full lifespan, and whatever else if they did not reach their full lifespan.

The only thing I would change, like others have said, is having the segmented middle body part be the pattern color instead of the dominant base color. I just really want a pink butterfly

crossing my fingers especially for customization for sandbox, gene notifications, horn growth, scruff carrying, challenge mode, creature creator, random interactions, scrollable family tree, insectivores and heterochromia...and basically everything else

I was so inspired I did my own drawing of my ideal Nicheling fairy I hope you don’t mind. Also, I followed your guideline for the wing colors. Did I get it right?? (Most of the orangish color is actually pink)

I think that weak and deaf ears are a good idea, but they should all look like regular ears instead of folded down.

I do like this idea, but what about derpsnouted females? In my eyes that would be a bit hypocritical or at least really sad

I think this has been suggested before but it was in with a bunch of other ideas in one post and I just loved this idea so much and had another idea to maybe improve it So basically it is a horn slot gene of course, probably would be more rare and recessive. It would give +1 or +2 strength, possibly +1 attractiveness and maybe even healing powers? (like purr snout) I understand if people think that it would be too unrealistic and 'magical' for Niche though... You could unlock it in the menu by inviting a unicorn nicheling into the tribe and then healing (with purr snout or horn) 25 times? I just came up with this idea...I hope this wasn’t already mentioned...just throwing it out there what if there were snowshoe hindlegs which would basically be giant feet like snowshoe hares. When you have them you are able to walk on snow, Which might be useful for the snow biome. you might even have +1 or +2 speed in the snow biome.

I think this would be cool but it should be rare since real genetics don’t usually work that way.

I added the water lighting idea earlier but I have made a change. in real life I believe that you don’t have a higher chance to be directly struck by lightning, but if lightning strikes anywhere on the water it transfers to you and you get electrocuted. So maybe if lightning strikes within a certain range your Nichelings gets stunned or killed ??

It should also be dangerous to be in the water during a thunderstorm as your Nichelings could get electrocuted!
