STORY

Once, Xyrillia was empty. Until the dominant species of another star system colonized.

That species was the Zenkon. They brought with them seeds of life, which they scattered over Xyrillia.

Those seeds of life contained the Ostia. The only surviving Ostia lived in the swamps of Jaaoosl.

But that generation was long gone, and all the current Zenkon believe they and the Ostia were always there.

INFO

The Ostia are shark-weasel-goat looking things. On Earth, they are “cute” and “alien”. On Xyrillia, they are “pests” and “cute, but vermin”.

They can be expected to look like this: (also transparent, you can use it as a base)

Sometimes, they can have... mutations. Such as horns, wings, or a pattern (not a mutation, but it can be classified as such).

The ruling species of Xyrillia, the Zenkon, have classified the Ostia as a pest in its natural habitat (the swamps of the continent of Jaaoosl).

OTHER

Some Ostia wear collars or other accessories because their ancestors wore them.

Their ancestors passed them down, and much of their collars are now worn and broken.

The Ostia live in burrows and have a strict hierarchical order, similar to that of ancient India.

BACKSTORY

The Ostia are weasel-cat-dog hybrids, living on their planet Xyrillia. They were once tamed by humans, who then mysteriously disappeared. Eventually, Xyrillia began to warm up, turning most of it into a desert. Perhaps that’s why the humans chose to leave?

 

LOOKS

Ostia greatly resemble weasels, with a long, almost bare, tail, nimble paws, a long body, long legs for running great stretches across the desert, and cat ears and a dog head. They usually have a mixture of a dog’s eyes and cat’s pupils.

When they are pregnant, their bellies swell up greatly.

MUTATIONS

Sometimes, Ostias can have mutations, such as wings, multiple eyes, horns, legs, ears, or wings, or a pattern. Patterns are not directly considered mutations, however.

If they have a fluffy tail (an extremely rare mutation), they are considered royalty.

OTHER:

Most Ostia have collars. Some have good-as-new collars, some have collars in various states of decomposition, and the biggest ones have ropes around their necks.

I use random.org to generate the numbers. Just put the maximum at the highest number on the list, and hit “Generate”. PleSe, please, do put all your genes into one post so it’s easy for me to assess your Ostias.

Ostias have five toes on each paw.
