  1. Cool suggestion! The problem I see with this (which is a problem we have in general), is that the body also changes other body parts, such as the legs. Maybe the best solution here would be to add "Skin/Hair Types". So "Scales" would then the a type of skin. Other types could be long fur, no hair etc.

  2. A body covered in scales that is unlocked in the mutation menu once you reach the swamp island, same as poison fangs, except instead of giving poison they cause an inability to be knocked out by the bugs since they wouldn't be able to bite through it's scales and add an extra +1 defense because again, scales, (though they wouldn't be as strong as the armored body so only 1 defense) and with the speed of medium body. this would be useful in the swamp area since its so overcrowded with bugs and stinky tale is unlocked in an entirely separate location, making it very hard to keep your nichelings from getting attacked by the bugs. Since it is a swamp and the poison fangs look so snake-like this feature would work really well there, I think this body type would have the colors of the poison body since it's not fur, it's scales. I used a screenshot of a nicheling as a model to kinda show what I mean:

  3. yeah, he does. You literally just put him on the nest and he gives birth. Although it may end up with glitchy blood clotting. I had twins, a male and female, and the male had both slots that were filled with normal blood clotting, and the female had no blood clotting whatsoever.

  4. Keybindings are useful for controlling logic circuits but easily limit complex logic circuits such as a simple turing-complete computer. I've been trying to build at least a full adder but the keys needed to build a full single bit computer would probably require all of my keyboard and it would take a long time to set all the keys. Logic lines or "wires" would make connecting each logic component easier and allow larger, more complex circuits. I suggest a wiring button to link each part by either using the current connection lines (which would also have to link one part to multiple other parts) or wires which can be placed like parts and can be linked to and from multiple parts.

  5. I also have a 2nd improvement on Derpsnout that I'd like to be considered: I think Derpsnout's ears should aesthetically still be reflective of their ear slot genes. I can see it going 1 of 3 ways: 1) The small ear can still be round and deformed, but the larger ear should be reflective of whatever ear type they should express as the dominant phenotype. OR 2) Both ear SHAPES are reflective of whatever ear type they should express (e.g. both ears are pointy if they have normal or large ears), but one ear is still smaller than the other. I prefer this one. OR 3) The small ear is the one that is accurate in shape to whatever ear type they should express as the dominant phenotype, but the larger one is the current oddly formed larger ear of the Derpsnout. I would have suggested another option, that is, graying out the Derpsnout's ear genes like Spiky Body's tail genes and keeping Derpsnout's current ear structures while adding +3 hearing by default to Derpsnout, but that would negate hearing boons, like if you had +4 hearing from Big Ears.

  6. I haven't played Oxygen, but back in the day I played lots of Mindrover. It had something similar where there were separate Build and Wiring views.

  7. Welcome @Sylennus. Hunter x Hunter is one of my favorites as well also watched 2011 2 times and the original once. Read the whole manga about 2 times and even collected all the mangas 2 times yes, I'm a bit of a fanboy. It's interesting that so many people here have similar interests (be it the stories or topics like nature). It's a please to make games for you all

  8. Hello there ! My name's Adrien, I'm a student in IT in France, and also a Closed Alpha player of Nimbatus. I'd like to be working in the video games industry later and I got a personal project going on to teach myself how to create games using Unity. I discovered Nimbatus a while ago (I would say early november of 2017 ?) and I immediately like the idea, tried the demo, posted a bit on the Discord/Forum at the time and sadly I had to be less active for a while (family time, classes, etc.), but now I'm back and I'll try to be as helpful as I can. It's my first time taking part in an Alpha Launch so I have to say I'm pretty excited ! I saw you guys like anime/manga and it's my case aswell ! Full Metal Alchemist is probably the one I like the most (only read the manga, I have to start the anime), I watched 3 times Hunter X Hunter (the 2011 version), I read Death Note multiples times too (never watched it though, I heard bad things about the adaptations haha) and I'm currently watching the season 2 of Seven Deadly Sins (Nanatsu no Taizai in Japanese). I'd like to learn it (maybe you could help me :p), Japan's one of my favorite country and I plan to go there this summer for about 10 days ! I would say cinema is quite a hobby too, I watch a lot of fantasy heroic kind of movies, super heroes, science fiction and all that stuff. I would say the animation movies from Studios Ghibli are my favorites by far, and LOTR Saga, as well as Harry Potter and Star Wars Prequels hold a good position if I had to make a list. That's pretty much what I would say about me, but if you want to know more don't hesitate to ask me, I'm always glad to talk !

  9. Hi everyone. I'm Markus and I work at Stray Fawn Studio as a Technical Artist / Animator / Artist / Game Designer / ... and everything else they let me work on My hobbies are drawing, animation (I absolutely adore high-quality hand-drawn animation) and comics. I'm also interested in photography, Machine Learning / AI and I learn Japanese together with @Philo and @Micha. I also like Full Metal Alchemist (original and brotherhood, as well as the manga) @DangerousDodo. I have probably seen almost all live-action Death Note adaptions there are as well as read the Manga, but I haven't seen the Anime As what my favorite animes are: The list of animes I like are too long to mention here and the ones @Philo posted are definitely high on my list. Some animes which are not only my favorites but also very important to me: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, 2006 (Movie) 5 Centimeters per Second, 2007 (Movie) The Tower of Druaga, 2008 (Series) Dennou Coil, 2007 (Series) Angel Beats!, 2010 (Series) Maybe we need a Anime / Manga thread in this forum so we can nerd-out together

  11. On several tribes (Most of which I don't end of pursuing long), I've come across a weird bug where I'll just be playing normally (not even having any children) when the game tells me that I have a new gene unlocked. I look, and it's Normal Blood Clotting. I just started a new Tribe to check out the Crossing, and on the first day I was just moving Adam and Eve towards the port when it did this. At least I won't be with them long. I seem to come across a LOT of bugs... (at least they're minor)

  14. I have one big tribe, and sometimes I'll split them up, like I send two or three Nichelings (They're compatable for breeding, as that is crucial to the way I play) to explore new land. And once they clear some grass and find a good place for a nest, i breed them, and once they have their child, i give them all different gem colors from the rest of the tribe. And when i play like this, i call the smaller groups 'Factions' and sometimes these factions get so big, they're like a tribe onto themselves. Sometimes I'll mix factions if two Nichelings have recessive genes i want in my tribe [Ex: I had a water faction female and a meadow faction male (Blue and green gems, respectively) and they both had poison fangs recessive, the male had them active AND recessive, so i had them use a permanent nest near a toxic berry bush to have children. And when they were born i gave them either two blue gems and a green one in the middle or two green gems and a blue one in the middle, to show the merging of factions]

  15. 1st picture: This is Iskoko, my Goddess of the Grasses. In all of my tribes she is responsible for the grass that gives them all coverage. When she was young a bearyena killed some of her family, and she escaped because she fled into the tall grass to hide herself. She has been thankful for the grass ever since.(She is also the drawing on my profile Picture) 2nd picture: Kirroku, My god of Hope. When his faction (So i have one big tribe, but then i split that tribe into factions, He was of the Savannah faction, Hence the yellow gems) was still small they took in a wandering female, that female was his mother, and when he was born, his Faction was given the Hope that they will survive. 3rd picture: Rela, My Goddess of Balance. She was the last child born to her parents (Can't remember their names, Sorry) She is the Goddess of balance because since her parents just died, they had no Alpha. And when she gained her second gem, she approched her faction with a firm voice to tell them to stop fighting amongst themselves, or else their beloved faction would cease to exist. She restored balance to her faction and was elected as Alpha in her parents place.

  16. I think this is a super cute idea so I tried to edit what they might look like onto a nicheling model, thoughts?

  18. Did you get that idea from Oxygen not included? They use it and it works, almost, flawlessly. So yes that's a really good idea.

  19. One possible approach to logic programming is to have a separate "logic connection mode". Instead of showing structural connections, logic mode shows signal input and output connections between parts. Then you can create and manipulate signals via mouse drags and clicks, instead of assigning dozens of keys.

  20. fix sprawling logic and the myriad keys required. I recently used the in-game logic to combine several features within a drone: + ripple firing of eight long reloading weapons - 3 clocks, 3 not gates, 20 and gates + a thrust 'efficiency' package that lets me use every thruster on the ship for multiple purposes (it can turn on and off main, side and retro thrusters for turning, and strafing - 2 not gates, 16 and/or gates) plus minor things like: + a shield toggle - 1 switch + an afterburner button - 1 not gate While i'm sure I could have made this a little more compact, at this point I had used almost every key on my keyboard for the input and outputs. So how about a computer block (wishlist): a 2x2 or larger block that you can double click on (or otherwise enter) that expands to a screen that lets you place logic gates within the block, and drag inputs and outputs of these gates to connect them to each other. You could also maintain current functionality by dragging the gate input and outputs to a keyboard key field. You could keep balance by requiring the block to be powered (maybe usage based on how many gates it contains) plus of course, it's destruction would completely destroy your logic functionality rather than just maybe part of it. alternatively, for a quick fix - how about allowing us to assign inputs to a 2 digit hex value in addition to keyboard keys - that gives an additional 256 non-key possibilities (I would love both this and computer blocks, you could build incredibly complex drones!)
