  2. Using this Steam discussion, I will be attempting to replicate those Nichelings while doing challenges, some made up by me and some by others. To make it harder for myself, I will be switching save files each time the desired Nicheling dies. Current Challenge The tribe has a starting limit of four, but they must accept all wanderers, and they up the limit, which is currently four. Current Nicheling Goal Head: Cracker Jaw Eye Color: Green Eyes: Shortsighted Horns: Black/White Antlers Pattern Color: Brown/Brown Body: Water Body Paws: Claw and Claw Hind Legs: Webbed Hind Legs Tail: Swimming Fur: Grey/Black Pattern Type: Mask With that out of the way, let's go on with the story! Story We start out on a Tiny Green Island. Here are our two starters, Bearnice and Ateno. And, as you can see, Ateno already has Cracker Jaw, Brown Pattern, Swimming Tail, and Black Fur (I already love him so much aaa). Bearnice has recessive Cracker Jaw and White Horns. Bearnice grew up under a tribe that had a huge personality cult over their first leader, which also meant they had a huge tribe. The day before Bearnice became an adult, the tribe began starving to death, and she ran away. At the same time, Ateno was being forced to leave by his tribe, who was quite peaceful and didn't allow any sort of strength in the tribe. Being peaceful, they let him grow up in the tribe while slowly and gently explaining that he had to leave when he was older. Soon, they bumped into each other. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry miss," Ateno spoke quickly, as he had accidentally knocked Bearnice to the ground. "It's fine," Bearnice murmured, brushing herself off. "Wait...who are you?" "My name is Ateno, you?" "Bearnice," "Like a...Bearyena? Because those things are-" "No, that's not what..." Bearnice trailed off, staring into the grass with a distant look in her eyes. "Look, we're here for different reasons, and we can't go back. In order to survive here, we have to help each other and...well, mate with each other," "What about wanderers?" Ateno pointed out, his mother being a former wanderer. "Just agree with me, PLEASE." Bearnice huffed. There was a moment of silence as no one moved. "Fine. I always wanted kids anyways," Ateno agreed, mating with Bearnice. Ateno uses his remaining moves to clear out the grasses surrounding him while Bearnice finds a berry bush and makes her nest next to it, hoping that it worked and that she isn't wasting nesting material and moves. She is correct, as they are awake all night and Drita is born the next day. Bearnice sighs as she hops off the nest and picks a few berries to eat. "He looks quite...handsome?" Ateno comments, looking over the sleeping baby. All Bearnice does is nod. "Ow..." Ateno mumbles as a leech leaps out of the water onto him. "Bea-" "Out of moves," Bearnice replies quickly. Ateno groans. A day passes. "Bearnice, I'm BLEEDING!" Ateno pleads. "...Fine, but only if you mate with me," She huffs. "Okay, okay, fine, just get this off me!" Ateno nods quickly as Bearnice walks over. She removes the leech and licks his wound. "Thanks," Meanwhile, little Drita has just opened his eyes for the first time, and he stumbles off his nest. Drita is now a young child, probably about 6 years old in human age. "Mom, what should I do?" He asks nervously, faintly remembering the shaky relationship his parents had the previous day. "Go find another berry bush or something, just get some food," Bearnice grumbles, and Drita hurries off into the grasses. Ateno mentally notes that she seems more grumpy than usual, but he doesn't say anything about it. Bearnice goes into the nest, hopes that it worked, and picks a few berries in the meantime. Ateno continues clearing the grasses. Luck is on their side. They are once again awake throughout the whole night and around noontime Ebrahim is born. Bearnice takes this as a very bad omen, as he is a male (she wanted a female) and, for the first time that Ateno and Bearnice reached the island, it rains. Ateno instead takes Ebrahim as everything he wanted. Both agree that they should be done having kids for now. Drita begins shakily picking a few berries from a bush he found. Bearnice destroys her nest and also picks some berries. Ateno continues clearing the grasses. The first bunny has appeared, and Ateno leaps into action, killing it and eating it. "That could've fed more of us than just you!" Bearnice snaps. "Gosh, I'm so sorry," Ateno frowns. Other than the bunny killed, the day continues like the previous. Drita is now an adult, but that doesn't change his fear for his parents. Ebrahim is now a child, and as he opens his mouth, Drita shakes his head over and over. "Mommy, what should-" "GO CLEAR SOME GRASSES YOU BLUEBIRD!" Bearnice snaps. "AND FOR YOU, STOP TELLING HIM WHAT TO DO! YOU ARE NOT THE LEADER HERE," Ateno is quite frightened by this, and after killing the bunny the day before, begins to formulate a plan. Now very scared, the two brothers do exactly what they were told to do. At least Drita and Bearnice found new berry bushes. The next day, Ateno's plan is ready, and after a night of long mental debate, he has decided to execute it. "RUN!" He yells in the direction of his kids, who do so, hurrying into the grasses. Ateno then leaps onto Bearnice. "What are you do-" Bearnice is cut off as she is killed. Ateno's eyes go wide, realizing what he has just done. Unable to cope with killing another Nicheling, he kills himself. "W-wha..what should...should we go..?" Ebrahim stumbles over words after hearing the cries of his parents as they fought. "No. We're never going back there," Drita murmurs solemnly. They move away from the area and find a berry bush to satisfy their hunger. Ebrahim has now grown up, and the brothers try to forget everything. Will Drita and Ebrahim ever forget their childhood? Will they ever find love? Find out in the next edition of...this!

To make it harder for myself, I will be switching save files each time the desired Nicheling dies. Current Challenge The tribe has a starting limit of four, but they must accept all wanderers, and they up the limit, which is currently six. Current Nicheling Goal Head: Cracker Jaw Eye Color: Green Eyes: Shortsighted Horns: Black/White Antlers Pattern Color: Brown/Brown Body: Water Body Paws: Claw and Claw Hind Legs: Webbed Hind Legs Tail: Swimming Fur: Grey/Black Pattern Type: Mask Story The next day, Lucine has Drita's last child. Drita names her Anna. Before anyone can do much else, Leyla and Ebrahim mate and hurry over the stepping stones leading to a new island without looking back. They find themselves on a huge, sprawling island. Leyla makes a nest, hoping that she is pregnant, while Ebrahim clears out the grass covering his mate before running away from under the coconut tree. Leyla is quite surprised when she wakes up the next morning to see little Andrey sleeping peacefully by her side. "I didn't even feel anything..." Leyla thinks. They decide to have another child almost immediately after they find a permanent nest nearby. Leyla wakes up soon after she falls asleep, and Artur is born just before dawn. Leyla agrees with a laugh to Ebrahim's proposal to have as many children as possible, and she gets back in the nest Andrey was born in. She stumbles, and is unable to mate with Ebrahim along with accidentally destroying the nes Andrey decides he wants to crack coconuts for a living, and he carefully picks one up and breaks it open. Leyla successfully mates with Ebrahim and makes a new nest. Well I have to go, sorry for the short update! 😅

  4. Maybe you could eventually make a new file and say that a bunch of predators...killed everyone? Something like that, and Minera's all alone again. And instead of 1000 moons, since you were at about 200 moons, just go up to 800. I don't know, just a suggestion, and you don't have to do it immediately. 🙂

Current Nicheling Goal Head: Cracker Jaw Eye Color: Green Eyes: Shortsighted Horns: Black/White Antlers Pattern Color: Brown/Brown Body: Water Body Paws: Claw and Claw Hind Legs: Webbed Hind Legs Tail: Swimming Fur: Grey/Black Pattern Type: Mask Story After running out of food from the berry bush, Drita and Ebrahim begin warily exploring. Many days pass. Ebrahim and Drita have continued exploring, Ebrahim finding a tree where his huge snout can be used. Eventually, while looking around his new-found tree, Ebrahim finds a bright pink wanderer named Lucine. "What's wrong with your fur?" Ebrahim asks, and Lucine sighs. "Don't be so rude. Give her some food, she's obviously hungry," Drita tells his younger brother. He reluctantly does so. Apparently rudeness was not the only reason Drita told Ebrahim to invite her. He finds her quite attractive, and Lucine goes over to meet him. "What happened?" Drita asks, only recieving a sniffle. "Shh, it's okay, you can tell me," Drita murmurs soothingly as Lucine begins weeping. After 5 minutes, she wipes her eyes, and begins explaining. "I came from a tribe that worshiped anything and everything in the sea. It was customary to drown your children, with only the strongest and smartest ones surviving. I was told by a wandering male that could breathe underwater to eat a plant. I could suddenly breathe, and everyone cheered at me. Then leeches were put all over my skin, and that's...why I look like this, and it's why I have a deformed paw. Everyone did. The wandering male helped me get away, and I...I've been running ever since...how can I trust you?" Lucine cries. The brother's eyes soften, and Drita explains his story. "Oh. Well, I guess we are quite similar," Lucine brightens a bit, and they stay together for the rest of the day. This annoys Ebrahim a LOT. The next day they are eagerly talking to each other, and Ebrahim rolls his eyes as he cracks open a nut. Drita smiles widely and goes over to Ebrahim. "What?" Ebrahim huffs. "We've decided that we're going to be mates and have a few children...so you're going to have to get off that nest," Drita explains slowly. Ebrahim groans, and gets off. Drita returns to Lucine's side, and mates with her. She looks off into the distance. "Hm?" Drita asks. "Well...I was thinking since we are getting a bit older, that we should wait a few days to see if I really am pregnant," Lucine says finally. This doesn't make much sense to Drita, but he agrees to wait for 3 days. By then, Lucine would have the child, whether she wanted to or not (if she even had one). On the night right before the 20th day, Lucine's face scrunches up. She nods to Drita, and hops into a nest. At the same time, a Bearyena appears. Ebrahim decides that he will help defeat it, but if he doesn't get enough recognition, he will strike it out on his own. The brothers leap into action, Ebrahim for one final chance, and Drita to protect his mate. Drita gets attacked badly. Although he isn't bleeding, he now only has 2 days left. He deals the final blow to the Bearyena, not letting Ebrahim even attempt to claw at it. Ebrahim takes this as not being recognized and instead ignored, so he leaves the tribe. On his way out, Ebrahim encounters a spotty female wanderer named Leyla. She explained she was forced out of her tribe because they thought she was the Nicheling form of one of their weather goddesses. When asked to make it rain, she couldn't do so. The goddess was banned from being worshiped, and she was forced out. Ebrahim explains his story, and they soon fall in love. She is invited into his new tribe, where they agree that they should get off this island to get away from Ebrahim's brother's family. They begin making their way towards a nearby port. Meanwhile, the first daughter of Drita is born, and they name her Hilargi. Drita asks Lucine to move first before his brother could. "...No. Hilargi is too young, I want to have another child with you, and you will die soon due to your valiant defense of me from that bearyena," Lucine shakes her head. Drita sighs, glances at his brother, and nods. Lucine mates with Drita, and makes another nest. What will happen to Lucine's children? Will Ebrahim and his newly-found mate survive in a possibly dangerous new island? Find out in the next edition of...this!

  8. I'm using the console at the moment to get more nichelings in a litter. Meanwhile, the parents were even lazier and abused the cloning machine. 6 children, 3 almost identical.

  11. This was written in response to the following prompt: "Two siblings engage in a fight with sticks. To their parents, it looks like childish fun, but to the kids, it is an epic duel to the death." Pivotal Moment His breath heaved, his body sagging, but alert. Sweat dripped into my eye, and I blinked to clear it. Somehow I knew, I knew that it was coming. He’d seen the opening and the blow was coming. I lifted my own blade, steel meeting steel, but he leaned hard into the blow, throwing me to the ground through greater strength and weight. I saw the shadow against the sun and rolled as he struck the earth behind me. I pulled my knees up and rolled directly into a kneel, scrambling up. He struck before I could get my footing, pressing his attack, forcing me to stumble, then stumble again to get my footing. He’s too aggressive, I realized. But he was bigger than me, faster. Would it be enough to take advantage of? I might fight magnificently and still, lose. But I would lose anyway. The only thing left was to bet everything on this strike. My life, my cause, my princess. They would live or suffer based on one moment. I stumbled back again from his furious assault. Again, I fell. Again, he lunged to strike while I was down. I thrust my sword forward as my back struck the ground – combined with my backward motion, the forward thrust was almost motionless, but his body provided the power. He thrust his chest against the blade, his own aggression delivering the deathblow. “You . . . never taught me that.” Blood dripped down the blade, coating my hands like hot grease. “I taught you all you know, big brother . . . but not all that I know.” I lifted my foot, bracing his body, and directed him to fall to the side. Out the window, Jonathon and his brother were playing. Jacob was writhing on the ground, pretending to die, and the younger Jonathon was up and cheering in glory. “Do you think Jacob lets him win, honey? Is that healthy, to pretend to lose? Or should we encourage it? I just don’t know.” “They’re boys, honey. Let boys be boys.”

  12. A sickly apprentice tom is found outside clan borders. His name is Sunnyash. He's a quiet tom who's rather serious but he has a strong sense of empathy for others. He joins clan ruby. Good thing Clan Ruby has more strength now, for a Bearyena attacks the clan! Sunnyash springs into action beside Pikestar. The attack is pretty bad, though; Sunnyash is forced into early retirement and six of Pikestar's lives are knocked out, putting him on his eighth since he and Cloverstar were on their second. At the next gathering, Sunnyash is introduced to Clan Sapphire. He is disappointed to find that Eagleviolet died of old age and is not present. A new she-cat joins the clans. Her name is Marigolddove. This isn't really a fitting name, for she has quite the rugged appearance. She's also rather quirky and sassy. She joins Clan Sapphire. She has +1 Special defense, but -1 Speed. Not long after, Aldereye, a red-eyed she-cat, joins Clan Ruby. She's quirky, Sassy, and bold. She has +1 Defense and Special Defense, but -1 Attack and Speed. A tom named Roseseed joins Clan Sapphire. He is serious and impish. He has +1 Defense but -1 Special attack. At the next gathering, new clan members are introduced to each clan. Pikestar moves on to his last life, and Cloverstar moves on to her third. "Aldereye," says Pikestar, gently and anxiously approaching her den. "I have a favor to ask of you."

  15. Hi pack! We discussed with the whole team and these are the results of the second community voting The following features will be implemented in the next update! More customization options for sandbox mode Unlock gene menu notifications Insectivorous nichelings New gene: Bat Head New gene: Savanna Horns Customizable and Programmable Gem Colors * Please note that this feature will be added in a way simpler way than suggested. Players will have the option to write down color codes in a special file in their game's folder. Additionally the new update will feature: New gene: Bat Wings (We already prepared these for the flight update) 2 new bears (These are Kickstarter rewards) Customizable animal names (Since we have customizable gem colors, this is a very low effort task. Players will have the option to write down names in a special file in their game's folder.) How where these features chosen? We evaluated the 20 highest rated features based on their effort in the sectors programming / art / game design. Higher voted features are priorised. The highest rated suggestion "More customization options for sandbox mode" is a big feature with a very high programming effort. So all other features chosen were required to have very low programming effort. We hope to release the next update in Q1 2019. Now, let's discuss what kind of stuff we want to be able to customize in the sand box mode Head over here to post your suggestions: https://strayfawnstudio.com/community/index.php?/forum/70-customization-options-for-sandbox-mode/ Cheers, Your Stray Fawn Team

  16. Hi, I'm doing a playthrough like no other today! UPDATE: I have added the rules and tribe lore here so you know what this tribe's goal is. THE LORE A long time ago, a beautiful nicheling goddess was born, and her name was Bostonlobstah. She was very inquisitive and curious about the world around her, so her parents decided to send her to earth as an immortal nicheling. They carried her in their wings to a tiny island, and dropped her there. When she woke up, she found herself all alone. She bounded to the edge of the water and caught a glimpse of her reflection. She was a brown and dull female, nothing like the beautiful goddess she thought she was. Being quite independent, she enjoyed the silence and solitude for a few days. But then she became homesick and longed for a friend. That's when a strange wanderer suddenly appeared on her island. She was scared of him at first, hiding in the grasses for several days. But then he found her and she couldn't resist liking him. He introduced himself as Adam and claimed to have the same conundrum: Lost, alone, and terribly homesick. He asked her how far away his Home Island might be. Bostonlobstah peered into the mist, where the waves lapped around some stepping stones that led to an unfamiliar island. Her big nose couldn't scent Home Island anywhere. "We are very far from there," she told him sadly. "So far that you wouldn't live to see it no matter how quickly you travelled." She watched as the wanderer's face darkened with sadness. After a little while, Adam told her that he didn't care if he reached Home Island, because wherever she was was his Home. :,) Bostonlobstah was so touched that she revealed her true form and told him that she could make him immortal so he could reach Home Island. Adam was delighted. The pair settled down and had their first children. Bostonlobstah found Adam that night, sitting by himself under an oak tree. He looked miserable. "What's wrong?" She asked him. He replied, "I am thinking about immortality. I don't want to see my own children grow old and die before my eyes." Bostonlobstah sighed and then smiled. "Adam, don't you see? I'm a goddess. You are a god. Our children are immortal too! Everyone in this tribe will live forever, I'll be sure of that." Adam was content, for now at least. He curled up beside Bostonlobstah and their two children, telling them stories of his homeland where the coppery trees in the center reached towards heaven, and where beautiful pink flowers blossomed in patches all around. "As beautiful as me?" Little Ernie asked puffing out her fluffy chest. "As beautiful as you," Adam sighed. He glanced at Bostonlobstah, who purred and dropped her head on his legs. His whole pink family was worth more to him than all the pink flowers in the world. ... THE RULES - The biggest rule is, there are no rules! If I need (or want!) to use the console for survival or for gags, I will use it! - Bostonlobstah and Adam 2.0 (Adam and Eve) are the highest priority when traveling to the next island. (They are REQUIRED to come). Any nicheling with pink gets second highest priority. All others have low priority. - Everyone is immortal. No nichelings will die, but many will be left behind. (They can be reincarnated though). If you accidentally kill someone, you must recreate them! - Your goal is to speed-run to Home Island so Adam 2.0 can meet his family again! - Once you have enough nichelings, only pink nichelings are allowed to breed. - The 'ideal' nicheling has pink on pink pattern, pink horn color, and purple eyes. - Once everyone reaches Home Island, they become mortal again. ... It starts of basic enough. Adam is carried off, the bluebird drops him, yadda yadda. ...Until the console comes in. "Let Adam be upgraded," said the Niche goddess. And thus Adam 2.0 comes into existence! Adam 2.0 is lost and alone, but he soon finds a new island in hopes of finding love. Adam 2.0 spends many days looking for a mate, but his sucky smelling means it's hard for him to find her. Finally, he hears something rustling in the grass. Adam chases the wanderer over the course of several days. She's very sneaky and he can tell she's not totally into him, yet. When she finally comes into view, he's not very impressed with her appearance. A rather dull looking nicheling, despite the spots. Finally Adam 2.0 persuades the wandering female to join the tribe. In gratitude for his kindness, the nicheling reveals her true form--None other than the beautiful pink goddess Bostonlobstah! Adam 2.0 is enchanted. Adam 2.0 and Bostonlobstah fall in love and start a family. Both are surprised at the appearance of beautiful double-pink twins in the nest the next day. Bostonlobstah did not expect twins, so she names them Bert...and Ernie. The small family moves to a new tiny green island. Bostonlobstah has a new daughter. Her name is Poozie. The tribe is small and Bostonlobstah dreams of a large army of Pink Nichelings (And Adam 2.0, of course!) to lead triumphantly to Home Island. She changes her Tribe's gems to a pink color to symbolize her wish. She uses her magical powers to summon a new tribe member. A new wanderer appears in a puff of pink smoke beside little Poozie. He's got awful fertility, eyesight, and appearance. "I can fix that," Bostonlobstah smiles and winks at the young wanderer...

  17. I somehow never stayed there for long, and since Adam's tribe can be made to respawn with console commands, I am not too worried about losing them. However, do normal wanderers spawn there? After a certain amount of time and no console commands...

  18. We return to the story with Dustnose and Copperstride. They seem to be chilling by the shore, and Dustnose has recently given birth to a new kit of which she has named Shellkit, later to be called Shellsight. The two are relatively close to BrightClan's camp, but they don't mind. Waspstar is watching them from afar, and while he does not mind the two very much, he wishes they had not left the clan for what he sees as no reason. Speaking of BrightClan, one if its cats is sneaking off to hunt with a cat from DarkClan. More importantly, that cat specifically is DarkClan's deputy himself, Rainfur. Whilst the two have only one strength, they hope they can combine it to take down whatever they come across. Let's just hope the stagmoles dont hide away before they can both land a hit. In the distance, Patchstar and her patrol are returning to camp at last. Minnowear, a DarkClan warrior, is helping the shy young cat, who has graduated from Softkit to Softpaw, build up courage to face her clanmates. (Look mom! I got the gender right!) Softpaw takes comfort knowing she's not the only one with a form of horns growing out of her head, although hers are antlers while Minnowear's are rams. Back at BrightClan, Mallowbird has returned to camp and is shocked to hear about the death of his mentor. He's also a bit annoyed that he's going to have to spend full time being a medicine cat from now on. He begrudgingly makes his way over to the collection of plants his mentor had found an announced the "StarClan Contact Place or Whatever," quote Mallowbird, and lays down to meditate at the end of the day. Meanwhile, the rest of BrightClan seperates to go off and do mundane tasks. Kepa reduces everyone's ages and potentially messes up some stuff with the console in the meantime. Wonder why everyone's not dead yet? Age reduction babey! -x- The next day, a predator is found in the thicket surrounding BrightClan's camp. Waspstar and his deputy, Beefang, are able to take it out in three hits with their double claws. Meadowfin collects the meat. In the middle of the previous night, Mallowbird is visited in a dream by his mentor, Robinflight. "Congratulations on becoming the clan's second medicine cat, Mallowbird," Robinflight announces with a warm smile. Mallowbird scoffs. "I never wanted to be a medicine cat, but thanks I guess." Robinflight's tail flicked. "You have a lot of responsibility now, young one. You will have to train an apprentice of your own to succeed you one day, and the weight of the entire clan's health rests on your shoulders. Perhaps even the entire island's." Mallowbird narrowed her (look, another gender fixed!) eyes in annoyance. "Yeah, no need to remind me of my impending doom." Robinflight's face darkened. "Mallowbird, from now on you need to take your job seriously. Being a medicine cat is no joke whether you wanted to be one or not." Mallowbird was about to tune out her mentor's rambling, when a spark of light captured her attention. It was her mentor, but she was being whisked away by a strong wind. Before she completley disappeared, her voice echoed towards her direction. "Beware the one who's crimes cannot be undone." -x- Sorry for the EXTREMLEY FUCKING SHORT UPDATE, but my parents put time limits on my computer ever since I got it, so I only have fifteen minutes left, and I can't create an entire fucking update within fifteen minutes. Nah, that takes around one or two hours. I'll extend the update tomorrow in this same post. Sorry.

  23. I got the idea from the first post in this thread. I was trying to come up with an original idea, so I clicked on the first post on this forum and saw that. I thought, "How about one of the rules is having to invite all wanderers?" Then I read " The lower your population, the higher the chance" and I thought "How about we have a limit of 4 population?" Then I wanted a connection between them, so I thought of making the limit go higher each wanderer you invite. Thank you by the way.

  32. i know a lot of people really like the idea of more hybrids, but personally I think that hybrids should be kept to bearyneas only. It makes them seem more special and unique to other predators like the apes and balance bears, and if they were to receive hybrids too, bearyneas would be widely overlooked. that's just my opinion on hybrids though, and I wouldn't actually find it offensive for more hybrids to be added

The days had been almost luxurious, they had plenty food, and their numbers were growing quickly. he sighed again, slightly louder. This continues for a bit. "WHAT?!" Prince frowns and looks at charming as if he wanted to push him into the river. "Its sooooo boring these days. I want excitement. Mother told us that they got attacked by giant bearynas but I dont believe them, I think they just told us that to keep us close to camp!". Prince sighed. "You know its dangerous....but if the wilderness is so exiting we can look around for new bushes to destroy tomorrow". Charming frowned but said nothing. It was better then nothing after all. The next day, the boys inched towards the enrtance of camp, trying to go unoticed by any of their sisters. Crawling out they wandered around grinning. There was a cleared, slightly trampled path leading downstream. They laughed and talked as they walked. They were not being as cautious as they should be.. They soon went back and sat at the entrance of camp, discussing their adventure and bragging to their sisters. Suddenly, branches and grass around the entrance of camp were ripped up and tossed into the river. A killer bearyna loomed out of the brush, growling. The boys stared in shock, but quickly defeated him. Cheers rang up all around the camp. The first stepping stone for conquering this island had been passed. Hope and Rala soon gave birth to their children, who then mated with the friendly bearyna.YES first bearyna baby! Time to mate faster then rabbits! To be continued...

  38. The original idea is from Shenkel, in the 30's and 40's, who asserted that a male and female pair dominate the society of the pack, and that they carry their rank by each, among their gender, aggressively defending their social position. This is the 'Alpha' and 'beta' that most people believe in and was reinforced by a number of studies until not too long ago. This is what I'm claiming is untrue. Recent studies (As in, the last two decades) have painted a truer picture of their social structure, but still use the same terms.

  40. From what I've learned as a rat owner, it's not the animal's lifespan that matters. I'll be really happy if I can have a tribe like Ossen's, but with longer lifespans. (Also if we can customize our starters, I'll literally clone Ossen XD)

  42. Welcome back to another update. Remember that rogue male? Well, he's dead now due to poison, but as the result of him and Patchstar accidentally breeding, this young kit, Softstorm is born. Patchstar leans away from the kit out of disgust, she hates his snout, his shortsightedness, his deformed paw, and is very judgemental of his antlers. While this child appears to be melanistic, he is simply just black-furred. His eyes also seem to be brown as well, with green recessive. Relating to rogue males, seems that one has taken a liking to Amberpelt from BrightClan as well. While the she-cat is heavily displeased, perhaps this is a sign from StarClan that the cats of the clans should start readying the next generation of warriors. Welp, after this unfortunate event, the rogue male is killed by Amberpelt and Beefang. If Beefang hadn't her double claw, she would've been gone for as well. Oh, and off-topic, but here's a cameo from anonymous unicorn! Congrats to you for spying on me as I edited the allegiances. Anyways, back in BrightClan, is seems that Dustnose and Copperstride are having a conversation.. let's listen in, shall we? "I don't know. It just seems I'm not really important in this clan. All I've been doing is sitting by this shore, waiting for something to happen," Dustnose spoke, staring the reflection of herself in the water. "Perhaps I should just become a rogue. Maybe then I'd be able to make a future for myself instead of sitting around in a clan all day that doesn't even acknowledge me." "Hm. Same thing with me, I guess. I can't hunt or fight. All I can do is dig and sniff around in the water. But there's not even any plants for me to dig up in the water." The two sat in silence for a moment, the water calmly splashing against the shore, getting their paws damp. "...maybe we should run away and become rogues together?" Dustnose finally spoke up. "Copperstride, you're the one cat who's stayed company with me. It would be.. nice.. to have you by my side as a rogue." Copperstride thought about this for a moment before responding. "You know, I've felt the same way about you. And you know what? Let's do it. The clan wouldn't notice us anyways." And so, the tom and she-cat waded away across the water. Neither of them announced it out loud, but they were mates. In the meantime, everyone else is doing mundane tasks. However, two other cats were planning something that they would put into action the next day. "Mallowbird, I trust you to lead Lionspots back to our camp so that he may be greeted by the clan. I'm afraid I must be off to do something important." "Of course, Brightclouds. But may I ask, what exactly are you doing that is so important?" "I wish to keep that information to myself, Mallowbird." Mallowbird's brow furrowed in suspicion, but he didn't question the she-cat any further. Besides, why should it be his business? "Patchstar, Minnowear is just up ahead. He'll help you on your way back to the camp, but in the meantime, I wish to patrol the west side of the border, due to how close we are to it." Patchstar scoffed. "Abandoning me because of that cursed kit? Fine, I don't need your help, Rainfur. Be off with you, I'll get back to camp myself." Rainfur dipped his head, albeit with some shame of the lie he was telling his leader. The tom padded off as if he was going to patrol the border, but as soon as he headed into the grass, he dashed off to meet someone... Amberpelt's lip twitched with irritation. "What kind of creature is this?" she growled. "That would be your daughter," Robinflight called from a short distance off. Amberpelt's tail lashed as she rounded on the medicine cat. "That thing does not, and will not, belong to me under any circumstance." The she-cat was padding towards the medicine cat, anger visible in her glare. "N-now calm down, Amberpelt. I'm sure if you don't want them, someone else will take care of them-" "I am not having that abomination in our clan, Robinflight." The she-cat spat the name out as if it was a piece of crowfood. She stayed silent for a moment, before continuing. "And I won't be having you in our clan either. This clan should be ruled by strong cats, not by pathetic medicine cats that have little to no use." Amberpelt lunged at Robinflight, using her claw to tear at the other she-cat's dark red pelt. The cats rolled into the underbrush, hissing muted. While Robinflight put up a good resistance, her one itty bitty ounce of strength proved useless against Amberpelt's three points of strength. The she-cat dealt a final blow to the medicine cat, tearing out her throat. The healer collapsed, body jerking and shaking on the ground as she gasped for breath. Amberpelt threw the bleeding cat into the water, so that a pirhanna that tended to hang around could bite at it to disguise the cat claw marks as fish tooth marks. Amberpelt washed herself off in the nearby water, and dragged the medicine cat back to the camp. Cats gathered around, demanding what had happened. Amberpelt feigned fear, while telling a made-up story. "Robinflight was just wandering in the berry grove, when this big red fish with giant, nasty teeth jumped out of the water and drug her in! It tore at her pelt, and when I managed to rip her from its jaws, it was too late, she was already losing too much blood. I couldn't do anything.." Waspstar padded over, and inspected the body for a short while. "Well, thank you for trying to save her, Amberpelt. It's not your fault she died." The tom then clomb up the tree in the center of the camp. "We will hold vigil for our lost medicine cat tonight, and then bury her at the water's edge tomorrow." The clan gathered around Robinflight's body. Nobody knew of the murder that had taken place except the murderer. In the back of the crowd, Lionspots muttered to himself. "Well, isn't this a bright, happy way to be welcomed into a clan.." For the rest of the day, mundane tasks around the territory were performed. Anonymous coyote has appeared! Whoever this is, they are the spirit from StarClan who guides Robinflight into the starry hunting grounds above the territory. The next day... "Oh, this is just great," Patchstar grumbles as a bearyena jumps out of the bushes. Minnowear swiftly deals all the damage he can to it, which is considerably a lot, while Fleettail weakly finishes it off. Meanwhile, trailing behind is Softpaw, who is now pestering his mother with tons of questions about what he just saw. In BrightClan, Robinflight is buried by the water, and Amberpelt gets into an argument with Waspstar about what to do with her newborn kit. Amberpelt argues that she wishes to throw it into the water, while Waspstar argues back that all life is precious to the clan. "IT'S MY KIT, AND I GET TO DECIDE WHAT TO DO WITH IT!" Amberpelt yells, snatching up her kit and running to the water's edge. Waspstar does nothing but watch, as it would be pointless to argue with stubborn Amberpelt. The poor kit didn't even receive a name.., Waspstar painfully thinks to himself as he watches Amberpelt throw the kit into the sea. Waspstar then welcomes Lionspots into the clan, but his smile is fake and full of pain, worry, and concern. Anonymous bird watches as I kill a baby. Meanwhile, two cats, oblivious to the current events, are talking. "It's nice seeing you again." "You too." It appears that Rainfur and Brightclouds are meeting in secret on the BrightClan side of the border. "When I saw you on that patrol," Brightclouds speaks, "you stuck out to me. It was as if I found something I didn't even know I was looking for." Rainfur chuckles. "You too. You know, you look a lot like our leader, Patchstar." "Yeah, I noticed," Brightclouds laughed back. "It was a little awkward!" The two continued to talk for a while, before Rainfur suggested something. "Hey, do you wanna spend some time together?" "Of course! It's really nice talking to you! A lot nicer than trying to talk to my clanmates, actually.." Rainfur grinned, his blue eyes shining. "Well, then how about I take you hunting in DarkClan territory?" Brightclouds' entire face seemed to light up at that moment. "OF COURSE!" she yelled, but then instantly quieted herself down, fur growing hot out of embarrassment. "I mean, of course. I've always kinda wanted to know what your territory is like." Rainfur flicked his tail. "Well then, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" The tom leaded the she-cat into the grass. While this was a very bad, very against the warrior code idea, it seemed that the two cats didn't care. And now, I cut the update off here because I'm bored. Honk Honk!

  44. The light of dawn settled on the newly-founded territory. The clans are just beginning to wake up, DarkClan being the earliest risers. With the recent passing of Frondsight, the clan was ready to perform their greatest in honor of him not getting too far. Patchstar climbs her way up a tree, and calls to BrightClan's leader, Waspstar. The two communicate, and agree to organize patrols of cats to begin setting up a border between the two territories. In DarkClan, Patchstar chooses herself, Rainfur, and Heatherstone, Heatherstone being the closest to Frondsight when they died. In BrightClan, Waspstar chooses Meadowfin, Brightclouds, and Mallowbird, as Meadowfin and Brightclouds are the clan's fastest warriors, and Mallowbird could be useful healing material in case anybody got hurt. Meanwhile, the rest of the two clans go to work with exploring the areas closest to their camps while the border is set. Robinflight, the medicine cat, and Beeflight, the deputy, head towards the topright coast. Shortly into the journey, they find a small sort of hollow, with a berry bush, a friendly carnivorous plant, and a cactus all together. Robinflight is astonished at the variety found in one area. And besides, how did this carnivorous plant even get here? It may be the only speck of jungle vegetation on the island! Robinflight instantly extends the camp to reach to this place, deciding to make it the place where he and his apprentice meditate to contact StarClan on half moons. Little does he know, each plant has a connection to each part of the afterlife. But which plant represents what part? Meanwhile, Waspstar, Copperstride, and Dustnose explore the topleft coast. They don't seem to be finding anything as interesting, except for a few bushes. Perhaps this could be the clan's food gardens? There's quite a variety, such as coconuts, berries, poison berries... and poison berries. Also, a root. Also, it seems Amberpelt is sitting by the river, keeping watch over the fish, kelp, and rabbit burrow. Mothpelt, who is off-screen, walks over, showing interest in crossing. And in the meantime, Slipthorn sneaks out to join the border patrol, despite not being invited. Maybe she just wants something to do, since her clanmates are doing literally everything else. Meanwhile in DarkClan's camp, those bugs are really getting on the can's nerves. "I guess we attract all the friends! Bugs and snails, what great companions!" Hazeleyes jokes. "I could do without being constantly sleepy, but I guess," Talonfoot mumbles back, barely audible. The tom pads away from the sleepy puddle bugs, and curls up to doze. Meanwhile, the patrols have seemed to find a starting point for the border at the edge of a stream. The cats discuss among themselves, and agree to have Meadowfin and Slipthorn from BrightClan as well as Heatherstone from DarkClan begin making a border tracing to the blue port that has a surprisingly chilly atmosphere behind DarkClan's camp, while Brightclouds and Mallowbird from BrightClan as well as Patchstar and Rainfur from DarkClan extend the border to the port in the opposite direction, which has the same peaceful tone as the current territory. Meanwhile in the background, BrightClan's camp is being extended, Mothpelt has crossed the stream surrounding it, and DarkClan is finding that their camp is abundant in permanent nests. Heatherstone's eyes widen the next day as she spots a strange visitor. The creature is called a dodomingo. A fairly peaceful, fairly annoying creature. Heatherstone's urge to explore and find new things is growing. If something like this can exist, surely there's even stranger creatures out there? Meanwhile, back at DarkClan (and Brightclan too), uninteresting things are happening, such as Minnowear and Fleettail becoming friends as they explore the shore together, chasing a rabbit who dared to poke its nose out of the grass. (Note: Fleettail is not actually pregnant, the game just didnt remove the appearance of being pregnant after I manually removed the status via console. It was a misclick.) Next day, more uninteresting camp shenanigans happen. Mothpelt, who is still outside the camp, has found a stump and is deciding to call to see if there are any local loners that could be invited into BrightClan. Day after that, DarkClan is alerted to the border-setting patrol outside their camp. A few cats go to help them progress quicker, while the cats behind the camp begin to clear grass while making their way over to connect with the patrol. Meanwhile, the other patrol of Patchstar, Rainfur, Mallowbird and Brightclouds has finished setting the border on their side of the island. The patrol begins to seperate according to their clans, however, Rainfur and Brightclouds give each other a look that seems to imply that they wish to meet again. Nobody else seems to catch this, though, as their backs are turned. Back at BrightClan's camp, Beefang is confronted by a bearyena! Amberpelt rushes over to help her fight it off, and the two are just barely able to kill it with their claws before it can do any damage. Meanwhile, Copperstride and Dustnose seem to be taking interest in the waters. They can temporarily breathe underwater, but Waspstar warns them not to go too far in. At DarkClan, the border around the camp is finished. Finally, now that the border is set up, and cats know where they are and aren't allowed to step, personal clan lives can finally officially begin. At the west side of the island, Mallowbird, who had been conveniently sitting on a tree stump, decided to call out and see if anyone would appear. And in fact, someone does. The huge tom was so eager to hear he wasn't the only one on the island, that the speed and size of him combined simply dashing out of the grass spooked the entire patrol, as well as the player! The tom was shortsighted and had a crippled paw, but other than that, he looked like a perfect clan cat. Brightclouds decided to do the honours of inviting the tom, and he was officially accepted into... BrightClan! The tom recieved the name Lionspots for his huge body creating a fluffy "mane", and his spots, of course! The tom, named Lionspots, expresses kit-like excitement that he finally gets to be part of a clan. He is very friendly, and makes out as a very fitting stereotype for a BrightClan cat. While managing cats near DarkClan's camp, I the player don't realize what's happening beyond. A purr is heard, and would you look at that! A melanistic rogue male that resembles an uglier, crippled version of Rainfur mates with Patchstar herself. Rainfur is pissed off, and immediately chases down his ugly clone. Patchstar also runs after the rogue, and the two deal small damage but a long-lasting poison to the guy. Patchstar settles down in a nest, and waits for the cursed child to be born. Meanwhile, before continuing, Kepa recieves food from sonic, her absolute favourite fast food place, and edits the gem colours according to clans. Kepa is now bored of niche and will play later. Ciao fuckers!
