Lands Lost to Time

Here be a setting in which to role-play. In order to join, please submit a nichling, or adopt one of those found below. If your nichling may have been alive during this era feel free to allow them to visit.

 

Setting: In a time long since passed, it is believed that the islands may have been one. Or at least two to three of the islands were interwoven. In a way not quite as helter-skelter as that of the Grass Adventure or Grass Mingle lands.

Here in Ardanaia, which is what the leaders of this land call all the world, there are three sections of land.  

The first is Acelle. In the far north of Acelle are the mountain peaks covered in snow throughout most of the year. One of those peaks is an inactive volcano under which magma flows and allows a large hot spring to form at the base of the mountains where the melted run off of snow falls and a river flows into. Water is kept warm, but not boiling. Snow monkeys appear to watch nichlings at the hot spring and oft use the hot springs themselves.

The mountains converge into a swampland.
The grasslands surround most of the swamp where the mountains do not. There may be a couple of jungle plants (two carnivorous plants, a stinky fruit tree, and one full grown jungle tree) hidden in a small patch or two within the grasslands.
Torva, which is the second land, begins as the grasslands continue to get drier to the south and thus one run's into the savannah.
The grasslands run into a lagoon that is fed from the surrounding sea.
The third land is known as Mirahl which is a distance from the mainland. Here there is a strip of land where dangers lurk, for it is a small to medium sized jungle island isolated from the mainland.

What no one has done as yet is found the entrance(s) to the caves which lead to a subterranean world, but if they ever did they'd need to be careful of the magma river and steam geysers. There too are some underground caverns that may be frozen as well wherein the cave walls are covered in layers upon layers of ice or permafrost. Such an icy layer has captured the horrors of a further distant past both of bones and those animals, including nichlings, frozen in time.

A little warrior whose mother would trade him in a heartbeat for things she and her group need, or to gain some form of alliance...  though she lives on a far distant continent, but hey what are flying nichlings for, or whales for that matter?

New to the lands as he just left the back of a whale he's headed for the snowy mountain. His and his younger brothers parents were rather old when they had them and died on the whales back of old age.

Axlarr sat next to a toxic berry bush under the shadow of a mangrove tree. He could hear the slow, slow movement of the snails that he himself could not reach.

"Where is a flyer when you need one?" His tongue flicked over one of his fangs. Snails were such a delicacy but he could not fly and even if he could there was no way for him to see where he was going.

The ones that fall from the tree are fine, but it might not be a good idea to shake the tree. And the acorns can be used for more than cracking for food since the nut acts as a seed. Axlarr thinks Dodomingo fertilizer works best, but the stag moles just eat the roots of new plants so getting anything else to grow besides grass has proven difficult. Not that he can see any results.

Pidgeon cracked a nut open. He sighed as he took out the seed, set down the rest of the nut in the food pile beside him, and went to find a place to plant the seed. It's hard to do the same thing every day without anyone else to talk to, he thought. He found a suitable place and started to dig. I remember when Mom and Dad were here. It was fun to crack the nuts and take care of the Ancient Oak with them. But now they're just fertilizer for the seedlings. but the seedlings don't even last; the stagmoles kill them before they can sprout a leaf. He finished digging the hole and placed the seed inside. Pidgeon patted some dirt over it, hoping nothing will come and eat it. He sensed with his antennae for when it will rain next. Not for a while, he thought.

Skanarr, the purrsnouted spiky bodied wanderer of the grasslands had finished his rounds for the day and had cleared away some grass. There had been so much of it regrowing as late. If only there were more berry bushes, or better yet trees!

Shybu peaked through the grasses. He had never properly interacted with a nicheling before, he wasn't sure if they were friendly or not... (He is looking at pidgen and Snakarr)

Junebug looked around the lagoon for her niece. Where is she. When she gets back she will be in so much trouble. She thought to herself. She was just starting to get agitated, something she usually didn't feel. She was usually calm and collected.
