I saw you guys posting lineart so I thought I'd also share the lineart of Cala that I drew last week ^^ In case somebody wants to color her! Btw her name basically is Caramel (since I used a picture of a caramel pot to pick her colors), but short Cara and pronounced in Japanese Cala in case you were wondering

Also just a side note I'd love to see a developer playthrough of Niche. I it never hurts to play your own game. (Maybe you can teach us even more about genetics, certain strategies, and why you added certain features as you do it :3)

@RaanaTheBanana I used to draw a lot but since 10 years or so I started to get more into game design and programming too So nowadays I still do art for our games sometimes, but not so much. I always do the Niche promotion pictures that you sometimes see in a collab with out artist Steffi though ^^ (We make the draft together, she does the 3D models, I do the overpaint)

I made an axe to...better my tree-chopping experience. It's house-building time. I need cobblestone for my floor. So yay. The sky looks nice... Floor completed (also walls) I heard things so now I'm scared, apparently. I build a door for...protection THEY FOUND ME That's all for now...I guess.

Bit of tweaking, including less stiff leg and hopefully slightly less weird tail. Also now 24 fps with two frames per drawing instead of 12 fps with one frame per drawing. Because why not.

Most mammals aren't ready to reproduce once they have reached adulthood. Some species have certain time spans in which they can get pregnant (like cats) while others have to reach a certain age. My idea would be to have the choice between a heat slider (female gets in heat all x days and the heat lasts for x days) and a mating-age slider (females are ready to mate at x days, males are ready to mate at x days).

Dear pack As you know the Sandbox Settings Update has recently been released on the main branch, yay Now you may be wondering what comes next for Niche, so we wanted to give you a little update! There won't be any big new updates for the PC game in the coming months. However we have 2 cool things to share with you ^^ 1) We are currently working on a prototype to bring a brand new game set in the Niche universe to mobile! These are very early mockup screenshots. The game focuses less on survival and more on breeding. Please note however that we will only finish and release this game if we think we can make something very cool out of it and its still too early to tell. Larissa is the game designer and artist for the Niche mobile game. Here you see her (left) playing the paperprototype with me 2) We're currently trying to port the game to Switch! For that we need a frozen version, which means we can't really update the game for now (except for bug fixes). Please note that here again nothing is 100% sure yet! It might be a bit early to share all this with you, since the outcome of both projects is still uncertain. However we wanted to tell you what we're currently working on

That's at least three times now I've tried to un-check the 'add as opponent' checkbox after a tournament and the game has instantly decided "he must want to upload that as an opponent!" I've been told before that I just missed, but this time, it was blatant. I clicked on the checkbox, and it took that as a button click. The collider is smaller than the checkbox, and overlaps with the button collider, which is too big.

basil: my teeth are messed up so im going to give myself the most ugly and terrible snout in the game! me: my teeth are probably even more messed up (one is literally sideways lmao) so im going to give myself one of the best snouts in the game!

#1: Stinger Tail ((Name by Redknight910!) - Adds +1 strength and poison damage! [nicheling on the far right] #2: Prehensile Tail - Adds ability to climb trees, which would increase sight more than standing on a tree trunk. Or, I suppose, add +1 gathering? [nicheling on far left] #3: Flashy Tail (Name by Redknight910!) - Adds intimidation to scare away predators/rogue males/wanderers/rabbils/dodomingos. [nicheling on the far right] #4: Tricky Tail - When you are being attacked, the first hit does no damage. (Maybe if the enemy is blind, it will either not be fooled or be fooled so good no attacks do damage?) #5: Blubber Tail - This is modeled after leopard geckos, and it would give them three days of not starving when there's no food before they start to starve. #6: Sweet Tail (Or Berry Tail? Or Bush Tail?) - This is my idea for a tail that would look kinda like a berry bush in order to attract whatever npc's are attracted to berry bushes, like rabbils and wanderers. To really get that berry bush look, it'll have a color scheme separate to the nicheling, being either brown (drought bush/withered bush) or green (healthy bush) randomly like how the Toxic Body is random colors, always having pink spots to represent berries. I also couldn't decide what shape (berry bush or withered bush) to use, so I used both; let me know which one you like better!

Basically what the title says. I've always wanted to toggle things like the apes on and off, or remove carnivorous plants entirely. Do you want some more bunnils to spawn in your save file, but remove bluebirds so they can't steal the meat you get from them? Want packs of hostile Ramfoxes to roam the mountains, so your tribe has to compete with them for everything from food to space, but get rid of Balance Bears because they are a nuisance? This setting makes it possible.

I think the derp snout is cute, and unlike the cripple paw or hemophilia, it has as much function as a normal snout.
