Alliance from Ashes Firecracker let out a loud roar as Evergreen pulled Tiger's Eye away, both jumping into new hotsprings. Firecracker smashed her claws down here Tiger's Eye was a moment before. Firecracker: "Get back here, I'll kill both of you!" The spiky nicheling charged towards Tiger's Eye, who was trying to reason with her. Firecracker had Tiger's Eye pinned under her claw, before Evergreen shot a lump of venom onto her forehead. Firecracker ran towards the sea, shrieking in pain; but Tiger's Eye grabbed her hindleg, and she fell onto her face, the venom eating up her face in a supposedly gore-y manner hidden from eyeshot. Tiger's Eye stared down at the dissipating nicheling as she heard someone. "Thank you.. sister?" She looked up and saw Evergreen, wrapping clovers in a green-pink bundle around her injured eye. "Its.. it's really nothing." Suddenly, a thundering roar filled the clearing. A balance bear had smelled the decaying bodies, and had come to feast on the rest of the tribe. Everyone scattered; the camp dissolved into chaos. Pomegranate ran up the slope instead of backwards, lost in the fray of shrieks and running. Eventually, a gray nicheling came and sat with him. Terrified for a moment, Pomegranate finally spoke: "Who.. who are you?" "My name is Dragonfruit. I've been wandering this mountain for a while now. I was going to ask to join you all, but, I don't want to be bearfood." "Fair." The two talked, and for a second, all the pressures of the world were lifted. Pomegranate was finally at peace. Good ending pog

(i'd recommend archipeligo (idk how to spell aaaaaaaaa)) it also includes my preferred settings, but you should probably just change that to fit your own preferrence. in my save, i have the females freely wander through the water, while the males wander, but stay near the nest. (underwater) when the females are going to give birth soon, they return to the nests. when the babies grow to have 2 action points, the females breed again. the cycle repeats. Water-Dwellers.sandbox

Makes sense lol. I have my savefiles organized into folders and such so I know which is which in case I ever need/want to play them. Including backups I have over a dozen, not including backups I have somewhere around 10. Three of them are other people's and are pretty much never played, a couple are ones I have saved because I didn't want to delete them but don't plan on ever playing again. A couple more are ones I plan on using/playing at some point in the future. Some I play occasionally, and then there are the ones I play consistantly, usually ones that I have a series on youtube about. Oh and I can't forget the shared ones, one with my sister (our duel cat and parrot challenge), and the other the Community Challenge. But it is kinda hard to keep them all straight so I get that isn't for everyone lol. I'm glad you know how to back-up/make a copy of your saves in case you ever need to!

Do you know how to backup/save your savefiles? If you do this you can have as many as your computer has the space for, not just 5! (And niche savefiles are only killibytes big btw)

I think I'll make it 42 days, then they can have exactly 13 children (14 is very lucky) each. And I think I'll change it to Reach Generation 10 for the win-goal, that's probably better. (But people will have to document it on their own without a win condition because it WILL act as if you're on gen 10 at like gen 3.) Hm... It's not really a completion so you can turn that on if you want but I'll leave it off in the challenge rules. The goal is to evolve naturally so it may take a while for those things to be unlocked... But then again it will help make the evolution more obvious... Okay, maybe I'll do that but then I might put in either one of these rules, say which one you prefer? I think I like (1) the best, personally, but idk.. Breeding pairs must share at least 1 mutation to have a maximum of 3 unique mutations per offspring. OR, each generation must only pick from a pool of 4 mutations (so gen 1 nichelings can only mutate big ears, black fur, spots, or velvet paw; gen 2 can only mutate stinky tail, derp snout, lean body, and stripes. Something like that) Either this could be for both their slots, or you could use one slot to mutate eyesight, fertility, blood clotting, or another flaw they have with a basic replacement.

Moaraara wasn't abandoned, tbh Makiia was the one who raised Kuku if I remember correctly

I am done with my turn! Will post screenshots and save file when I can. Putting down some challenges/reminders for next person with savefile before I forget. Kuku took some unfortunate damage from a bearyena (which he then obliterated) shortly before we left. He is low on health and as such you should breed him and his mate as much as possible and try and find a healing plant for him. Also maybe try and sheild him in case a predator attack if possible. That being said, he won't be easy to protect as he likes to hunt and will try and protect those he cares about. Only his mate and his adoptive brother Moaroara may be able to talk him out of it. Though he is smart and will likely try and have other strong members help him, he probably won't try and fight predators on his own. Is also respected by most everyone. I have used gems to mark family lines and breeding pairs. If a nicheling has one or 2 gems that arent green its simply their family line marked. If a nicheling has 3 colored gems then the other nicheling with those colors is their mate. Eli likes to hunt and fight. She also likes to explore. She's often impulsive and headstrong. Her mate Garnet is good at fighting and has a tender heart. He's protective but also wise. He doesn't go looking for trouble but will sacrifice himself for the sake of the group. Garnet is able to convince his mate not to do something stupid sometimes, amd she may also listen to Kuku since he is strong. Also, these two should breed soon to prevent one of them dying without passing on their genes because I think their personalities make them prone to it. Quinn Jr. doesn't like the barren rocks of the mountain at all. But he ventures out of the grass from time to time to dig roots. Was first coaxed out by Kuku. Kappa is Kuku's mate and she loves him dearly. She fears he is weakened by the bearyena encounter and will soon die. She is eager to have children. She also has a great love for water and hangs out near the shore alot. Moaroara is the explorer. He knows alot and his speed and knowledge. are appreciated. He doesn't mind the boring task of gathering berries or putting his life on the line to protect the tribe from predators. The only child of Makiia, abandoned by his mother, he was adopted by Retare and shares a brotherly bond with his adoptive brother Kuku. He has no mate at the moment, but is certainly not opposed if he finds the right female. Raella is the fishy miracle child that was "picked up" to be brought to the other side of the island. Moaroara is the one who picked her up and as such he practically raised her. So she views him as her father and sticks closely to him. He loves her like his adoptive mother loved him. She isn't very close to Eli, though she has seen her before when she was a baby and their mother was alive. Chie was raised by her sister Yukiko. She is sad her sister didn't want to come to another island, (Yukiko loves the swamp where she was raised and didn't want to leave). Chie is a bit clingy to Kuku atm cause he is the one who took the poor child hunting. She is tentative and a bit shy. She isn't very good at hunting but still wants to succeed in it because of her heritage. Rufus and Swan are in love and care about eachother. They are a mating pair expecting their first child. Swan dove right into the icy water to find food, (she didn't like water early in her life but has developed the love of it swimming near the port with her father, Bear). Rufus doesn't like water, especially cold water, but will do anything for Swan so he dove right in after her. Swan and Rufus are quite practical and focus on gathering food. They are the only tribe members who enjoy berry-gathering. Rufus is also the official bug-eater now that Yukiko is gone and will come help his tribemates should any bugs need eating. They will defend eachother and will also come help and defend Kappa if neccesary. Kappa and her sister are quite close.

Fight Fire with Fire The post you've all been waiting for! Evergreen heard a low growl from above. She looked up, and to her horror, Firecracker and some other nichelings she didn't recognize were looming over her. The rest of the Frozens backed up, looking at Evergreen in confusion. Laika stepped forwards and hissed at Firecracker, her gaze set on Evergreen reading, "You had one job!" Firecracker: "Ah, Evergreen. You thought you could replace me by simply killing me?" She glared down, before adding, "And Emu." Evergreen wondered if Firecracker didn't care about Emu by her tone towards him; maybe she just wanted power. And she clearly didn't care about Parrot. "You what!?" Fearless glared at her, snarling and hissing. "What the hell is wrong with you? You lost the vote! You're not the true leader, and you never will be!" Remembering everything Laika and Almond had drilled into her head, she tried to think of how she wasn't obligated to be the leader, but she couldn't; it was everything she was told. Fearless' words had stung like the acidic venom she shot onto others. "She is the true leader!" Laika snarled at Fearless. "How else can she avenge her Father and live up to familial legacy? Only children of the leaders should be the next leader, not siblings." Evergreen wondered if she really deserved to be the true leader. Actually, if she wanted to even lead anyone. . Suddenly, Firecracker charged off the stump. Evergreen had barely any time to react, and pulled herself up to block her vitals; she could feel pain fly across her eye, and she recoiled backwards, a long scar from under her chin reaching up over her eye. Wiping the blood off her fur, she stared up at Firecracker, who flexed her bloodied claw maliciously. She just wanted power. She doesn't care about anyone. When I die, I'll tell Emu that.. Firecracker reared to attack Evergreen, and she shut her eyes, waiting for her crimes to catch up with her. But then- "I'm sorry Firecracker, but I won't let you kill my sister."
