  2. This is my playthrough of the Pattern Challenge. I had to restart several times before I got starters with patterns. As I restarted, i got a set that both had a claw, a set where one had double diggers paw and the other had 1 diggers paw. Third try, I get a female with Mask! Unfortunately, her mate is patternless, so Reelu will probably just turn out babies while Kinai tries to keep them alive. (oi Midna/Goggles-Kun you photobombed my pictures how dare you) Anyways. Reelu is really snooty and proud of her mask, and wants lots of babies, but unfortunately she can't find anyone for a mate except Kinai. Thus, she reluctantly takes him on as a mate, though she would give him up in a heartbeat if someone else with a mask appeared. The patternless, shortsighted Ranani is born. This spotted infertile (CACTUS! @Lilytuft your boi has been reincarnated) guy showed up. Kinai lets him in. Though Kuvan can't have children, he can collect food. Vantar is born. Even though he is Reelu's son, she raises Vantar to be her new mate. She keeps Kinai around for a few more children until Vantar is an adult. Isresai is born. Another masked creature to order the others around. Kutah is born. Reelu throws away Kinai like trash and teaches Vantar how to be like her, that way when he's her mate he won't rebel because he agrees with everything she says. Vanatr becomes old enough to be Reelu's mate, and she immediately forces him into it. The next day, Struwbarree is born. INBREEDINGGG Isresai meets a patternless wanderer. She falls in love with him, despite the rules punishable by death, and she becomes pregnant wit his child before she is forced to slips away before Ranani appears and kills him. (he died the day after the picture) The next day, Nuka and Nuki are born. Nuka is sick and Nuki is shortsighted. Reelu says that Nuki is fine, the shortsightedness runs in the family, but sickness cannot be tolerated. Nuka is to be tossed away and left to rot as soon as possible. Kitar is born. Isresai sneaks off into the grasses and underneath a tree to have her forbidden child. Though she broke the rules to have a child with a Patternless, she doesn't dare break the rules again by collecting food or grass. The next day, Isresai learns her lesson that came along with little Meli. Meli is sick (and spotted!); this is a clear signal that partnering with a creature not of your pattern is very bad. Meanwhile, Reelu has another child, Rovanno. Scared that the gods will punish her, Isresai runs away from Meli and leaves Meli to fend for herself. Kainee is born. Maynu is born and thrown aside like Nuka. Rovanno finds a Spotted! (don't worry, he went and ordered Kinai to invite him in instead of doing it himself) Nuka and Meli meet. They decide to break the rules and do whatever they want (like Nuka will collect food and grass even tho he's a Masked) The tribe decides to migrate. Nuka and Meli sneak on. Vantar, Isresai, and Maynu stay behind.

  6. the male wanderer had many questions for ruby, and ruby had many questions for the wanderer. "hello! would you like some food? i have some left. here, take it." she pushed a small pile of nuts into his "paws" with a motherly smile. he seemed pleased. "oh... i didn't realise you were.. you were.." "like you? the paws?" "yeah.." "dont worry about it. me and my mate have came here to start a tribe where everyone is accepted! we're happy to see you. if you want to come with me, you can see my home! it's just by the tree-" "the tree! my mate! where is she? her name is cherry. have you seen her?" "oh no.. sorry. maybe dusty found her?" as they ran back to the tree, he told ruby his name was pine. they were both happy to have found eachother, and both wanted to be back with their mates. when they returned, dusty was very concerned "ruby, i found someone whilst you were gone. she had paws, but as soon as i gave her food, she-" "CHERRY! i found you! are you alright? are you you hurt? has anything happened to your-" pine was interrupted by his mate, who was staring at her "paws" "pine, i think something happened. i came over here looking for food. this really kind person gave me food and, well. this happened" "what? how did that? why did they? you, you're the one who gave her food, correct? do you know why?" pine seemed concerned, but not that concerned. deep down inside he was happy he could share his problems with his mate. "well" dusty explained "the reason me and my mate left was because only us were cursed. everyone in our clan- widowclan- were horrible people. it was my parents- oakblaze and flamethorn. both of them were terrible. any wanderer was killed on sight, and a family on the outskirts, redwood, mossshadow, and bloodmoon, they were all murdered. one of them were even pregnant. the gods were furious. they cursed our clan by making the next two children, well, look like this. ruby's father, maplestar, was horrified when he saw his crippled daughter. we left as soon as we could, and now were here. that curse- the curse of the gods- has come with us- it must have. i watched it. watched as her paws shrinked away. the only way we can redeem ourselves to the gods is by surviving and building our new clan so nobody is hurt or made out to be an outcast. they might forgive us.." there was a short silence. ruby had no idea the curse had came with her, and now she knew that she needed to work to be forgiven for her clan's actions. as the days dragged on, things were going well. more of the camp was cleared out. cherry and her mate were taking on cracking the nuts with their derp snouts as a hobby- ruby was impressed with how often they succeded. she was even pregnant with her first child- but she didn't dare give birth until she was sure the baby would be fed. anyway, she wanted dusty to be there for the birth of the child and he was off hunting moles. everything was going to plan. the next day there was good and bad news. dusty was coming back, but he had also just been made aware of a rogue male. he knew his mate would be fine, though, and that it would be quite easy to block him out as their camp was barricaded by all forms of foliage. just to be safe, pine bred with his mate and went to help dusty defend. ruby settled down in the permanent nest, ready to introduce dusty to her new child. in the morning, a tiny antlered daughter was born to ruby and dusty. as he tiptoed over to the nest. he whispered to his mate: "shes so tiny, isn't she? what did you call her?" "heather. do you like it?" "i love it."

  7. long inhale OKAY SO! I've been meaning to post this for a SUUUUPER long time. It's just I never got to it.. then computer issues... then other things... soooooo Here it is now! Introducing, the Pattern Challenge. Here me out on this, it's REALLY HARD TO DO. I attempted to do this while I had my old computer and it just became painful- that's because I did it the painful way but oh well The Basics Alright, so time to figure out what this is all about. I'm sure you can at least get a small idea of what it may be from the title.. So, there are four classes. Patternless, Spots, Stripes, and Mask. Each class has a different rank on what they should and should not do while dong this challenge. In a way, it's a type of hierarchy, where the lower they go, the more poor they are treated. Biiiiig rip. This is the order of the hierarchy: 1) Mask 2) Stripes 3) Spots 4) Patternless Patternless Patternless Nichelings are your lowest ranked creatures, receiving the omega rank and having their gems green. These guys do all of the dirty work and HAVE to listen to any rank higher than them. These guys must provide food, defend literally everything, clear grass.. and the list goes on. Patternless Nichelings barely breed at all and only breed once they are getting too old or they are ordered to by a higher rank so there can be a decent supply of Patternless creatures to do the work. Patternless creautres tend to be fearful and nervous, always on edge and fearing the worst from the higher ranks above them. They show as much genuine respect as possible in hopes they do not have to get banished. Patternless Nichelings are also very secretive. These guys have the ability to create dense grass labyrinths to escape to that the higher ranks do not ever discover because they are too lazy to clear away just a little bit of grass. Spots Spotted Nichelings, though one rank higher than the Patternless Nichelings, still get pretty banged up. They receive the beta rank and their gems are pink. These guys only have to listen to what Mask or Striped creatures say to them and they can feel free to order any Patternless creature around. These guys provide food and clear grass, for they do not have to fight a bearyena if there is one in the area. If they are the lowest rank, however (if there are no patternless creatures around) they must take up the responsibilities of the Patternless creatures. Spotted creatures are witty and sly. Though they know placing their paws in the wrong place will lead them into a fatal situation with the higher ranks, they still are able to get a laugh out of everything. Though they are told to show no respect towards Patternless creatures, Spotted creatures sympathize them and secretly help them when the higher ranks are not looking. Stripes Striped Nichelings have much more control thanks to them being a higher rank. Though they do not have full control, they can at least relax a bit. They receive the beta rank and have their gems turned yellow. In a sense, these guys are second in command to the Masked Nichelings. They are able to control the actions of Spotted and Patternless creatures and only have to listen to Masked creatures. Instead of getting down and dirty at all, these creatures only have to gather food. Striped Nichelings are resentful and have a snappy attidute. They constantly take out their anger on the lower ranks by forcing them to do their work. In secret, the Striped Nichelings wish they could eventually build an army to overthrow the wretched and unfair Masked Nichelings. Mask Finally, we have our Masked Nichelings. These guys.. hOOOOO BOYYYY... These guys are automatically bumped up to Alpha rank and are given blue gems. Being the highest rank, Masked Nichelings literally do absolutely nothing. The only thing they do in their spare time is breed or explore aimlessly in hopes of finding another Masked creature lurking within the grasses. Their whole purpose is literally to sit still and look pretty... Masked Nichelings are very snobby and disrespectful to all ranks below them. In a sense, they are tyrannical kings and queens forcing their citizens to provide for them no matter the circumstance. Masked creatures are often seen picking on lower ranks, especially Patternless ones. OKAY SO NOW THAT'S OVER WITH HERE'S SOME RULES 1) When you find wanderers, inviting them in depends entirely on their pattern. If you want, you can choose a generator to determine the outcome, but this is how it will usually work. Patternless : Killed. Spots : Reluctantly Accepted. Stripes : Accepted. Masked : Gratefully Accepted. 2) Masked Nichelings don't do ANYTHING. Not even clear grass. do you see why this is hard now 3) Striped creatures can only gather food (no hunting, no clearing grass, nada) 4) Spotted creatures gather food and clear grass and repair nests. 5) Patternless creatures do everything. (Defending, hunting, gathering) 6) Nichelings of the same pattern only breed with each other. (Ex. Spot to Spot, Mask to Mask, etc.) If you want a dense and drama filled story line then HAVE A FORBIDDEN ROMANCEEEEEEEE So uh, yea. Have fun with this I guess. trust me once you start it's going to be so hard and you're gonna find yourself making your masked creatures doing something other than walking around and breeding lmao ALSO, FEEL FREE FOR SOME STORY TWISTS, I WONT STOP YOU For example, you can have your patternless nichelings start a riot and overthrow the masked creatures and have the entire ranking system get switched around, visa versa Or or or you can have some sort of forbidden romance between a spotted and a striped nicheling! OR- you know what nevermind JUST HAVE FUN LOL

Also I have school so it will take me a while to draw these! Please don't expect these to be good, I'm doing this because I want to draw something for someone and I'm trying to improve my art owo uwu And I might as well link my DeviantArt for more examples: https://www.deviantart.com/feralixxi Edit: I now use Medibang to draw!

  10. I have a tribe that has survived for over 1500 days now, and the plan for when I created them was to send them to the jungle. They had spent a whole load of time in jungle islands, and i've learned to love that type of biome. It's easy enough to keep them alive if you know what you're doing. At one point, I was fed up with hiding from the apes and my creatures were going to be the ones to rule the jungle. I bred some really strong creatures to sit under each ape spawning tree and destroy each ape that dared to step foot on the jungle floor. I soon noticed that once you kill two apes, it seems to take a little longer for another to spawn. While my warrior families are waiting for their ape, they go around destroying carnivorous plants for our collectors so there's a chance they'll go back green. I often see people complaining about the jungle, and i'm very surprised about that.

  13. I find fighting balance bears really useful, way easier than walrus deer or anything else because they don't move and with Nichelings on all sides (sometimes you don't even need that) you can take them down in 2-3 days and all the other Nichelings can be cold support. I think there is no 100% good set up for the mountains as there is for the jungle. Because depending on what prey/ food source you focus on you'll need different genes

  14. Dogfood was named after one of Moonkitt's I spoil warriors for everyone- videos. This is the tribe that Ossen was in and now everyone with his colors +spots is named after him (males: Osse-something, females: Ossa-something). I'm studying German in school and I'm not doing that well so play Niche in German to learn at least something. I might have a screenshot of Walrosshirsch somewhere... He had the mega-something-horns and maybe cracker jaw?

  15. How do you not freeze with that combination? I always need 5 cold resistance or they'll get cold. It wasn't always that way, but recently, they need a 5 even in good weather so it's really just heat body+ fluffy tail for me, with digging trunk, mega. horns and bearyena hindlegs. Pretty effective at food gathering, some platypus beaks also work if there is a nest with rabbils by the shore. If you fly in a pattern, there's always roots and almost never a day without meat. Bluebirds go down easily enough. But you're constantly on the move and pretty much only go to the nesting grounds in the hardest days of winter. After that, there's a rabbil explosion. Balance bears aren't worth hunting, though, and ramfoxes can get nasty. It's better to keep around 12 nichelings in the peak- group to split up and hunt in two teams. Way more food, but I'm also really weak with a measly 3 in strenght. it's fun for a while that way. I should really try your style to see if I can survive well enough hunting predators instead of migrating. If the cold wouldn't get in the way, the winged hammertail and bearyena tribe could have a comeback...

  16. Also having wings and strength allows you to hunt the blue birds, which I believe drop 20 food each

  17. There has to be another way! I'm sure with enough convincing we can change Purrdolf H's decision... all he needs is to sit down and talk about his faulty decisions and then we can discuss how to change his ways over a nice platter of berries and snails. - Dragon Tear

  18. Your clouded eyes do not interfere with my sight caught on that mythical snout of yours. Just a tiny rumbled and you have the ability to uplift the spirits of those around you, both with feelings and health. I will gladly accept you into the rank of a healer, for you have been blessed by the gods with the most powerful snout of them all! - With care, Dragon Tear

  20. "Speed", or rather mobility, could be gained by wings, too; heat body won't slow you down and you can use bearyena hind legs for extra strength (plus mega horns plus sabertooth fangs). With this combination, no further strength or speed is necessary, so scorpion tail becomes a must. Big body forces your pack to stay in a cluster to warm each other up (i. e. the cold resistance isn't absolute) and so it's harder to surround the deer effectively, while runner legs don't add up to damage and their 'reach' is rather limited compared to wings. My opinion though, I haven't really experimented that much, so feel free to prove me wrong.
    1 point
  21. I'd go for heat body, mega horns, sabertooth fangs, bearyena claws, normal hind legs and scorpion tail (unless there's a cold resistance penalty). Haven't tried this combo yet though.

  23. You forgot ramfoxes But I voted for walrus deer. First they look hilarious, second they work as snowploughs, third they don't steal your food or bother you in any way and fourth they can make for some good food source if you figure out how to hunt them down

  26. Yarr! Currently, weapons either target a mouse or they are fixed. What if weapons used the VTOL UI options instead? Suddenly, weapons can track a positional sensor, aim down or up regardless of drone position, and even aim away from your mouse. "Enemy Drone" might need to be disabled for future pvp, but I think the other options could be great. Imagine! A scout drone detects an enemy and activates a positional tracker, causing a mother ship to immediately train their weapons on the tracker and fire. Weapons trained on on-board positional trackers instantly converging on predetermined locations based on whatever activates a signal. So, that's the idea. Thanks again!

  29. I did some testing, but I think I might have screwed it up. Going to retest. *Update* It's still a problem on the preview build. I'll test the current live version next. *Second update* It's still curving. When I first loaded up and tested the thruster-fuel-core setup in the live version, a thruster attached to the button wasn't producing a curve. Then I tested a bunch of other parts. All of them still curved, including other logic blocks. I went back and tested the button again, and now it's curving again too. 😆 I restarted the game to see if I could reproduce the button flying straight. Now, nothing that isn't attached directly to the drone core is yielding straight thrust.

The two other blind nichelings are my mother, Issi Purrberry and my father, Vanduk Blinddigger. I'm a bit small, but I'm not a child, trust me. I've even had a son of my own.

  40. a couple (very short because i accidentally sKIPPED THE DAY SCREEE) days later, cherry gave birth. he was called maple, and everyone was happy to see him- especially heather. she had never seen another child before. she was also about to go hunting with her father for the first time, her antlers meant she would be very good at killing moles like dusty. as heather wandered off behind her father, he talked to her the entire way, with different tips and things she should be careful of. "now watch very closely" he whispered. the was a tiny scream as he leapt into the grass and swiped at the mole, and heather was amazed. she couldn't wait until she could go hunting! in the morning, heather had a chance. she snuck up behind a mole, and.. yes! it was killed masterfully. as she presented it to her mother, she was very proud. so proud that her and dusty decided to have another child. the next day, a gorgeous baby was born. he was called rosemary, and his parents found him very impressive. so impressive, in fact, that cherry had to build her nest as she was so impatient to see her child. life was flourishing in the new tribe, and everyone was surviving excellently. the next morning, a new baby was born. she was called blueberry for her stunning blue eyes, and happily played with rosemary. all of the hunters were happy. there was more moles to kill than ever. the father and daughter made quick work of both of them, and ruby prepared for a final child. the next day she was born- and she was a kitten! everyone was amazed with her antlers and her whiskers and her fur- she was sure to be the leader of the tribe. her parents named her sage, and were very happy to see her in their nests. ruby was concerned, however. there were no cracker jaw heirs, and it seemed foolish to have more children when there wasn't enough food to support them. cherry wanted one last child, and she settled down to have him. he was called thorn, and was welcomed happily. (Im gonna be real with ya, i consoled his immunity genes because immunity k wasn't passing at all and i dont want to have too many children)
