Checked out this thread on a whim and had a random idea I knew I had to toy with. In my eyes, hunting is where the design of the original, hex-grid-based game really shines. Each creature has a recognizable movement pattern that players have to learn to exploit to survive. Simple mechanics lead to complex dynamics and an unexpected depth of strategy. So the big question that came to mind when checking out this prototype was: how on Earth would this translate to a gridless, real-time environment? The random idea that came to mind was some sort of suspicion/alertness system for prey, akin to Breath of the Wild. As you move or stand in the open, prey will grow increasingly alert until they panic and run. You're left with the option of either sneaking up on them, or tag teaming with multiple predators. Very cool, thanks @CFG! I'll definetly refer to this when working the hunting mechanics I will also take a look at how Cattails implemented huntig. It would be fun that if the prey depends on its smelling, you would need to pay attention to the direction of the wind. Or if it depends on hearing, different terrain might cause a varying amount of sound when you step on it.

And after a while, he reached... The ports. "My father and Tea Tree took these ports to this island..." He knew what Tea Tree was like. She was a strong leader type, but allowed the tribe to run without one. She was merciful and Dust looked up to her. His parents weren't around, so she was the only real adult in his life. And now she was long gone. He lay on the grass. It wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world, but it was better than nothing. "Hello? Dust?" Dust jolted up. Who was that?! "Dust! Can you see me?" "Who are you?!" "Dust! It's me! Elle!" --- "When are we having another kid?" "I would like another kid when Len goes off on her mission." "But wouldn't it be good for Len to have a sibling to have a sibling while she's here?" Coco sighed. "We need to toughen her up. Make her care about no one. Only then will she beat Shade." Lareel nodded. "Maybe I should give more information to Len about Shade? I think that would be helpful." "Do what you want, I could care less." Lareel paused "...oh" --- Ruby sat and watched a bluebird circle above. Its eyes were hungry and it flexed its claws as it flew. Chocolate was fast asleep. Ruby scanned her eyes to Len. Len's mouth was foaming and she was twitching. Ruby stood up and poked her. Len didn't move. A loud screech came from above. Ruby looked up to see the bluebird plummet to the ground. It was still screeching. Ruby walked over to it and it lashed out, although her fur was too strong to really do any damage. It then stopped screaming and flew back up, eyeing up Len even more. Ruby heard heavy breathing behind her. Len was awake and panting, eyes wide. "Are you okay?" ---

(The hisses are from tiny creatures, technically this would be any cats' worst fear right now, and basically there's this spirit that's trying to warn you) The hissing grew closer as tiny feet began to crawl on you, biting into your skin with thorn-sharp fangs, draining every drop of blood in your body. Soon, you were dead. -Wake up -TYO(You can choose to have either a dream or nightmare if you want, but I would imagine after a nightmare, the person/creature would wake up immediately, but that's just me)

Yes! I hate Fortnite! It's taken over my whole school. They call everyone defaults and do the dances at random times.

For what it's worth, Fortnite isn't that bad. Sure, some elements are unappealing, but in comparison to similar games, it seems decent. Haven't played it, though, not a fan on shooters or multiplayer.
