  3. I would like to be able to have two separate packs in one game. When I'm doing a game with two oping packs, it can be hard two control because I need lots of food to support two packs that should really be able to exist on their own without depending on one to be able to feed themselves. So, with a flip of a button, you could switch from pack to pack.

  4. I'd also like the ability to split and merge tribes, for roleplay purposes or practical purposes.

  6. And then there is this guy. I think he would have been better off blind. I do like to collect them, though. Three Rougelings and a Squirrel. They had a kit on their last day. Someone needs to clear all that grass.

  9. The other day I got this nifty little dot underneath my member rank. I noticed other people have the same thing, and I theorize it might have something to do with community reputation... Am I right?

  10. some photos from my birds challenge! mom pastelle and her husband emmit and some of her children! ❤️The scorpion tailed one is not one of their children but part of an arranged marriage named after the original frosting on this thread! Pastelle's 4th child. Born after the previous screenshot was taken. And it won't be their last! ❤️ and of course this gorgeous boy back from when I was still on whale island...I live his colors and patterning!

  11. I actually observed this a while back. It’s based on the amount of posts you have. It’s been a while but I think one dot means 30 posts, two dots means 96 posts, and three means 250 posts.

  12. Sorry if I am interrupting, but Micha is talking about your graphics card driver, not the card itself. Also, it would probably be good to copy paste the info under steam->help->system information so the devs can help you. A lot of information is there that they can understand so they can find your problem.

  13. I used to think if mom sits on the nest, the baby is safe. Especially with purr snouts around, you don't need to make sure she doesn't get hit, right? Well, no. A bearyena attacked on whale island and killed the baby. Is this usual? Rare?

  17. Oh no no no. Sorry, It's just a habit to name pawless derpsnouts rougelings. I like to imagine that their father was one, and they got exiled from their tribe. They're grass removers for work. So was this new lady.

  18. Is this a rogue male? Or just a regular wild male? Rogue males are not supposed to have Peacock Tail O_O

  19. WOAH, how have I never seen this?
    1 point
  20. I'd imagine that would be logical. The peacock tail being enough for rougeling to get all the ladies ... Especially in this case. Imagine the kits without mutations. That's one way to go about an only-bunnil- meat challenge.

  21. Ok, tested it Check the attributes tab, animals with white fur get camouflage in the snow / mountains. The bug is that it's not displayed in the text.

  22. Hmm, I just checked in the game. Seems like this is implemented. I'll look into it, maybe there is a bug.

  23. Potentially in the new sandbox mode, maybe there could be an option to toggle rather or not the packs share resources, so you could have clear lines of gatherers, hunters, explorers, etc. and not have to worry about one group starving while another has abundance, because they can all share everything?

  24. Yes please!! I'm always so worried about food that I've got a save with 2,000+ and I still don't want to leave the island because the risk of starving on another one. I'm paranoid, but for fair reason, I die out on medium and hard islands so fast

  25. Went walking in our woods today, and look what we found! There were so many colorful mushrooms in the woods and some were huge! Thought I would share. Nature makes some beautiful surprises sometimes This picture includes the different types of mushrooms we found, including two hickory nuts and a blue jay feather. (Also a tiny sprig of...something in the second pic) 🍄 🍄🍄 (Sorry for the awful set lol)

  26. Sounds wise @bostonlobstah Where I live we have a certain place you go to with found mushrooms and they analyze it for you. Those then can be eaten. Maybe you have something like that in your region as well

  27. Wow, this is really cool @DaddyLongLegs. Awesome tank If you don't mind, is it possible for you to post the GIFs directly here in the forum for easier viewing? You can just drag & drop the GIF files here into the post and it uploads automatically. Makes things easier to judge and for others to browse (no clicking needed). If you don't have a GIF file but a movie, you can use https://ezgif.com/video-to-gif to easily convert GIFs in good quality. thank you for posting

  31. @Classy and @gwenckatz When I load your savefile with the version currently on Steam it takes 3 turns and all the snow was melted away. So please try to restart the game and load it again. Maybe it only works when you reload your savefile. We will analyze this further.

  33. ChasingNyx's ideas are better thought out and would make good additions to the game. RandomWanderer Sorry you had to find out your family history through this game lol.

  34. I don't read that many books, so my opinion might be not worth that much, but I really love those two series/IPs (children's books). Their mood/universe really appeals to me Jim Button Harry Potter (the 7 main-books)

  35. Well if they added something where your nichelings can attack one another, then this could work for rival packs as well. You have your different gem markers and naming so then you could attack the other tribe or any of your own nichelings as well. Though if their strength is obviously lower then the nicheling they want to attack they cant. I don't know. Just thinking.

  36. I agree that the water environments are kind of drab. New predators would be interesting. But I absolutely agree there needs to be more food! Everything is too scattered. Can't there be a berry bush or tree equivalent underwater? Something that doesn't move around... maybe kelp or seaweed.

  42. These two random wanderers are the perfect example of recessive genes at work: Honey, did you cheat on me with my father? The pumpkin lady Dad in White, pictured with the first poison fanged creature since Adam. A great find Are you sure that's mine? An Army of Adams, improved Adams.

  43. Nice idea! I recently made a post about a Sea monster that acts like an ape, so this is pretty cool!

  44. I don't know about structures, but it makes sense to me that certain mutations / adaptations have an effect on how / where animals nest. While as per always exceptions exist, it's not very logical to nest on the ground when you can fly. Or breed on land when you spend all your life in the water. Additional nest options could reflect this and in that sense the suggestion could work for me.

  45. All current animals in Niche are combinations of two different specieses

  46. I gotta admit that sounds really sweet... Ooooo what about a gecko tail? Like a leopard gecko, they store fat in their tails so they won't starve when food is scarce if they have been properly fed for a while. Also this brings up another point: Desert animals are mostly nocturnal. Could see the rise of an actual night cycle while in this biome? If so, nightvision becomes an adaptation, and so does a couple other ideas like lightning bug bums or cricket songs, which again I think is pretty neat... Anyone else? Also tiny add-on for cobra head, we get a ranged attack with spraying venom to blind enemies. Because this is a thing with certain cobra species. I mean it would help out since all attacks are physical, so this would add some real advantage to this.

  47. No idea. Never knew it was even a thing in the first place but it seems like a cool idea.
    1 point
  48. I feel torn on this idea; on the one hand, it's very unique and I really like it. On the other hand, I feel that it might be a little overpowered. The idea that they have a chance to get your nicheling sick is really neat, but I feel like the rabies part is a bit too far. Also, the niche team seems to be a fan of making mash-up creatures; for example, the rabbils are rabbits + gerbils, and the arctic ramfoxes are rams + foxes. So maybe instead of just a rat, it could be a rat mixed with something else that lives in a swamp? I suggest either frogs or bobcats. If you mean them to be a simple prey animal, then frogs would be the better option, but if you mean them to be like bearyenas and have the chance to mate with a friendly one, then bobcats would be the better option. I also think that these creatures could move in packs like the ramfoxes! I hope it's okay that I drew some sketches ^^
